Having lived in Sheffield for a long time (since relocated) and visiting frequently, Beechcroft was absolutely ideal for us. The heating was just right (in December!) and the entire property was spotlessly clean, well maintained, having everything we needed. We stayed two nights and wanted to stay for longer as we felt so relaxed and comfortable. It was easy to get out and see friends, either walking, driving or by bus. Although the property is just off Ecclesall Road South, the traffic did not bother us at all - the bedroom is located on the side away from the road. Bryony and family are super hosts and we can't wait to go back and visit soon (already booked in for later in the year).
We stayed for an extended period. Beechcroft Corner House is comfortable and well equipped although not large. It's alongside the main A625 into Sheffield in the leafy suburb of Whirlow with several regular bus services both into Sheffield and towards the Peak District National Park, which is about 2 miles away.. The zip-together double bed (2 x 750mm) worked well, but may be a bit narrow as 2 singles. There are great walks from the house. Bryony and James are friendly, attentive hosts and are keen to please. Thanks for looking after us well!
Both Bryony and James are wonderful hosts and the cottage is so cosy and contains everything needed. Everything was spotless and all appliances easy to use. The location of the property was perfect for being close to the Peaks and also to the city centre. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it. Thank you Bryony and James.
Thank you Bryony and James for a lovely stay at your guest house as we explored the Park District and all Sheffield has to offer. Your warm welcome, detailed guest book of things to do, and personal recommendations and your charming guest house created a perfect place for us to enjoy a much needed relaxing holiday. Your recommendation to participate in a local Park Run was fun and much needed to get us moving after a long journey from the states. And your suggestion for obtaining tickets to Educating Rita at Sheffield's theater and visiting Haddon Hall was fantastic! Also, quite nice to have a well lovely kitchen to make our afternoon cup of tea or coffee!
My husband, 6 week old daughter and I, have just returned from a week at the lovely Beechcroft Corner House in Sheffield where we stayed whilst visiting family – what a fantastic gem the property is! The layout of the property makes you feel like you’re living in a home away from home with it’s own lounge and large dining table (for 6 people) and fully equipped kitchen. It was super helpful having use of our own washing machine and dryer, especially with the need to wash baby clothes! We also loved the outside decking and garden area, perfect to enjoy a coffee in the morning or drink in the afternoon, the area is bathed in sunshine all day. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’d need for cooking meals, together with a very high-tech coffee machine. The bedroom area had loads of storage and hanging space – we had windows opened and were not disturbed by any outside noise from the road in the evening. The walk in shower is very modern and the power strong. What we really loved about the property was the thoughtful touches of the owner to make the stay more comfortable and convenient – a mini welcome hamper of fresh eggs (from their very own hens!), bread, milk, cereals and tea choices, lux bathroom toiletries , super quick wifi and loads of books, DVDs and boardgames. Our only regret was that we didn’t get time to check out all the recommendations the Owner left in their detailed welcome book. I should also make mention of the fab location; we enjoyed loads of lovely walks directly from the property through Ecclesell Woods and also a visit to Whirlow Farm. A really very charming abode and somewhere we would definitely recommend to friends and family. We ourselves have already booked again for the Autumn!
My husband and I stayed at the Beechcroft Corner House for a week when visiting Sheffield, it is such a beautiful and quaint little cottage. We found it perfectly situated on the edge of Sheffield, making it close to access the peak district; but it is also close enough to the city centre. We easily accessed it by car but there is a bus stop directly outside, for those of you that don’t drive. Beechcroft Corner House might be situated on the main road, but we were not affected by this, whatsoever. There is mild traffic noise when you are in the kitchen, living/dining room or when out on the decking (which is great for your morning tea/coffee) but it did not disturb us in anyway. We could not hear the road when in the bedroom. We found it to be very clean and well maintained. We loved the fully equipped kitchen, giving us the option to cook; which we did! Most places usually only offer a microwave and/or a hob. The complimentary tea/coffee was great, especially since we arrived quite late in the day. The shower room may be quite small, but it does the job and fitted two of us in there easily. The shower was amazing, great pressure and nice and hot. I couldn’t get my husband out of it!!! It can always be a concern when a place allows pets, in that you can tell they have been there; whether this be by the smell or hair. This was not at all the case with Beechcroft Corner House. We did not bring any pets, but the place smelled fresh and clean and there was not a single piece of evidence that any pet had been there. The owners of Beechcroft Corner House are very welcoming and friendly. You can tell they take pride in renting out this place, from the small details to the big. I definitely recommend Beechcroft Corner House to anyone looking to rent a place in Sheffield, unless we have already booked it!
Beechcroft Corner House is excellent situated on the edge of Sheffield with the Peak District just around the corner. The dog-friendly cottage itself is really well appointed with lots of room for a couple and all the facilities that you could need ready at hand. We have stayed at the cottage on three separate occasions over the last couple of years and will unquestionably do so again as it really is a top quality place. So thank you Bryony and James for making this property available - long may this last.
This was a lovely base for a week, on the edge of the city but a short drive to the Peak District. Comfortable bedroom which can be either double or 2 x single beds. Plenty of hanging space and drawers. Shower room - small but with decent shower and heated towel rail. Open plan living area with pretty much everything you would need in kitchen and washing and drying facilities in garage. Bus stop outside which appeared to provide good service. Pub within walking distance and short drive to numerous restaurants. Helpful contact from owner who is on site but not obtrusive. Didn't find the road noise that noticeable - the premises is set back from the main road. Would recommend for a couple.
A cosy warm cottage which was always nice to return to on a cold winters day. Country walks from the door and a short drive into Derbyshire or Sheffield. Unfortunately, it is situated on a very busy road especially first thing in the morning. Also the bathroom layout is a little unusual.
We booked this as they allow dogs to accompany their owners. The place was well appointed and we could want for nothing. Directions and access to the key was straight forward, even though we did not meet the owner, other arrangements were straight forward, which was handy as we were greatly delayed due to traffic and accidents. The area had plenty of local areas ideal for walking dogs and is ideally located for quick access to the Peak District. There is good reading material on the local area, especially places to eat and those dog friendly, plus leaflets on attractions.
We stayed in this property over Xmas 2016. Excellent for 2 people and enough room for our family (who live in Sheffield) to come round and join us for a meal. The owners were even kind enough to put up a lighted and decorated Christmas tree. Very pleasant holiday home, no complaints, in fact we have already booked again for Xmas this year and will probably book another week here for during the year. Easy to reach city center or the countryside (Peak District).
Liked everything, it was great. Loved it.
This was excellent accommodation; just right for two people. There was a very comfortable bed, large shower and the living space was a lot bigger than it looked on the photos. The position of it was good giving easy access to the Peak District and also not to far from Sheffield City Centre. We would highly recommend it as a place to stay.
The quality of the premises and its contents. The access to features and points of interest in the Peak District. There was easy access to Sheffield, a large interesting conurbation with lots of history and opportunity for retail therapy. All supported with a lovely owner.
The property was very restful and relaxing in ambience, a place that is comfortable and homely, a great place to chill out in. Accessibility to the open countryside and city centre is most commendable. The owners were most friendly and helpful at all times.
