Reviews

We have thoroughly enjoyed a stay at the Fish House this last week! It’s well equipped with everything you could need including camping chairs, wind break, body boards and various outdoor toys, clothes horse and iron, there’s a high chair, books, games, DVD’s, CD’s, telescope, binoculars and a few indoor toys too! The kitchen has everything you could need for making meals! Plenty of space and bathrooms for the 7 of us staying there! The garden/beach area across the road is amazing for sitting and enjoying the view or exploring the beach when the tide is out! Just a couple of minor things; the mattress in the double room was so uncomfortable we didn’t sleep well all week and were stiff and achy every morning. The bunk beds also had the same problem, our daughter is 12 and she found it extremely uncomfortable but younger children who are lighter maybe ok! Others in our party said their beds were quite comfy though! The WiFi was poor and disconnected a lot so had to use mobile data instead. Overall we have had a lovely week and would recommend the cottage to anyone!

Just what we needed after lockdown, Fish House is gorgeous and has everything you need for a lovely relaxing week away. It is very comfortable with plenty of space for 6 of us and a toddler to both relax and eat. We spent most evenings sitting in the garden over the road with a glass of Prosecco or two, looking out to sea, just watching the world & boats go by - perfect. Kirkcudbright (2 miles) is a lovely town where you are able to get all the supplies you will need for your stay. Lots of places to visit and we found that car parks are free and have toilets which was a bonus in these times.

We rented fish house as a group of 8 over the new year period 2015/16. The cottage is a spacious, tastefully renovated house with a lovely warm feel to it. It has lovely views out to sea which you can enjoy from the sofa In front of the log burner or if the weathers kind, from fish houses own garden which is situated opposite the cottage, where you can enjoy a coffee and wave at the trawler boats passing by. Kirkudbright has a great selection of bars, restaurants and shops serving local produce if cooking isn't your thing. We all had a great stay at fish house and can't wait to visit again in the near future Picture attached is where I had my coffee on New Years morning

Fish house is a home from home. Equipped with all of the things you could need, this lovingly and stylishly renovated cottage was great for our family get together. The location is amazing, and a little road to cross to the garden area with a picnic table with views across the estuary and into the sea, perfect for morning coffee, breakfast, lunch and a fish and chip supper. A bonus are some steps down to your little 'beach' area for rock pooling with space for the children to run and play. Located just outside of Kirkcudbright it is a real gem with options to go into the town, or up the coast to a larger beach area or further afield for walking and exploring. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fish House, it has been renovated to a very high standard, very tasteful and has bundles of warmth and character! It was plenty big enough for our new year reunion, with a large family table and cosy sofa in front of the fire, it comfortably slept 8 of us. It was so lovely to wake up on New Year's Day and go for a brisk walk along the sea front, perfectly peaceful and cleared the hangovers! Thanks for letting us stay in this beautiful cottage, we'll definitely be back!
