Dartmoor Valley Lodge is a comfortable lodge on the Honicombe Manor Resort on the Cornwall/Devon border. The living area is open plan with a kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, dining seating for eight, and a sitting area with TV with Freeview, WiFi, DVD, Wii, selection of books, games and DVDs. The bedrooms consist of a double, ground-floor double, a twin and a ground-floor twin, along with bathroom and ground-floor shower room. Outside, there is a patio with hot tub, furniture and BBQ, off-road parking for two cars, and a number of on-site facilities including a leisure club. There is a shop and pub within 1 mile. One well-behaved pet welcome, however smoking is not permitted. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Dartmoor Valley Lodge is a delightful lodge for exploring the area all year-round. Note: Check-in from 5pm, check-out by 10am.

Gunnislake 2.5 miles. Ideally located for families who love the outdoors and also for touring all of Cornwall as well as South Devon and the moors, this comfortable lodge is situated on the Honicombe Manor Resort in the stunning Tamar Valley. With your own private hot tub as well as full use of all the resort's leisure facilities for which the owners’ have provided membership, you will always find plenty to do whatever the weather. There are four bedrooms here with a double and a twin on each of the two floors as well as a bathroom on the first floor and a shower room on the ground floor. The open plan living area offers a cosy sitting area, dining area and kitchen with a sit-up breakfast bar. This room opens right on to the patio situated alongside the hot tub with the barbecue giving you the opportunity for a spot of alfresco dining. Just several minutes’ walk from the lodge will take you to the leisure club, with two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor as well as a well-equipped gym. With a bar and restaurant situated within the manor house and a fine selections of walks and cycle trails all around you will find all you need without the need to take the car. However you must not miss the opportunity to visit the nearby Siblyback Lake and Outdoor and Active centre providing family-friendly activities whether for beginners or keen watersport enthusiasts, an ideal opportunity to learn something new. With so many beautiful villages close by to explore including the idyllic riverside village of Calstock and the outstanding National Trust properties there will always be a choice when deciding your day out.There is also a restaurant and bar located in the Manor, along with a soft play area for the little ones. The lodge is located in a lesser known part of Cornwall in an Area of Outstanding National Beauty (ANOB), and yet is within 20 miles of the sandy beaches at Whitsand and the picturesque harbour of Looe. The children and adults will love having a go at crabbing in the harbour. An ideal location for a holiday or short well-deserved break at any time of year. Gunnislake is a small rural village situated on the wooded banks of the River Tamar. The village has pubs and shops and is known as being one end of the scenic Tamar Valley Railway. Gunnislake is perfect for exploring Dartmoor, the south and north coast beaches and the attractions of Cornwall’s far west.

Location Details

Gunnislake is a little town in the countryside that sits on the forested slopes of the River Tamar. There are some stores and pubs in this small town. The settlement is located at the beginning of the beautiful Tamar Valley Railway, which runs along the riverbank all the way to Plymouth. Dartmoor, the beaches of the south and north coasts, and the sights of Cornwall's westernmost region are all easily accessible from here. Nearby attractions include the Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT), all less than ten minutes away, as well as the Dartmoor town of Tavistock with its pannier market, pubs, and restaurants. You may go otter and deer spotting along the Tamar Valley walk, explore the restored Victorian mining community of Morwellham Quay 4 miles away, visit the National Trust-owned Lydford Gorge, or head to Looe's beach and charming harbour, which is 25 miles away. For a change of pace, take the Tamar Valley Railway to Plymouth to see the fantastic Marine Aquarium or to wander the ancient Plymouth Hoe.
