Reviews

Absolutely beautiful cottage, well equipped, very clean, amazing welcome basket. Sam, the owner, very respectful of your peace. But a lovely, warm person. The location is wonderful as are the sheep. Beautiful calming place. Highly recommended. Won the gold award from Sykes and its easy to see why. Well deserved

A lovely characterful well appointed cottage in a very quiet hamlet - would thoroughly recommend. On arrival Sam had provided - fresh cream scones, a huge carrot cake, Yorkshire loaf cake, cookies, bread, milk, tea bags AND a platter of fresh made sandwiches - such a nice welcome after our journey. Beck Hole is a great base for exploring whether staying local or further afield to the coast and inland. We strolledl up to Mallyan Spout and the hotel beyond in Goathland (excellent food and beer garden). Coast path from Whitby to Robin's Hood s Bay was a highlight too, The pub is less than a minute away and beer was excellent - but it doesn't open after 7.30 and not every day so plan your trip!

Recently stayed here with my husband and 2 young children. We were blown away by the quality and cleanliness of the cottage. The location is wonderful in the enchanting Beck Hole and Goathland is a short walk away, manageable even with children! The cottage would be suitable for couples, all ages, families and anyone who would enjoy a rural location.

Well... What can I say, looks tiny from the outside, but is infact a very large two bedroom cottage. Samantha our host provided an exceptionally well appointed self catering cottage. Bedding and towels were of good quality, kitchen had all the things needed to make dinner, breakfast or packed lunch. The cottage is immaculate, and as a regular user of self catering accommodation has to be one of the cleanest we've stayed in in the last 10 years. Get a booking placed, you won't regret it!

Just leaving Quoits Cottage, sadly. The cottage is excellent, very well equipped and comfortable. Sam the owner could not have been more helpful and made our stay an experience to be remembered. When we arrived there were home made cakes and chocolates waiting as well as a fridge full of sandwiches and scones, it made you immediately feel at home. The area is very peaceful with a great friendly pub within two minutes walk, a walk we made a few times. If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing break this cottage is a must. Ray & Sheila

We visited Quoits Cottage for a week in September and have already booked to return next May! The cottage is beautiful and very well thought out, everything needed is there. The owner who lives next door is friendly and helpful. The lovely sandwiches and cake selection waiting for us on our arrival after a long drive was a lovely surprise too. We can't wait to return next year!

Our first stay at Quoits cottage and it sure will not be the last. Level of service outstanding, area also outstanding and very good for using as a base for walking. Local pub must be fairly unique and only 2 minute walk away. Walk up the old Railway to Goathland or walk the other way to Grosmont. Cottage had everything we needed and wanted. Beck hole is a delightful quiet hamlet where you can feel at peace and recharge the batteries.

A beautiful Cottage in a lovely tranquil location. There were country walks straight from the front door with two waterfalls, the moors, a steam railway and Goathland all within easy reach.
