Location Details

This lovely village lies in the heart of rural Northumberland, between the coast and the Cheviots. Longframlington offers fabulous access to a range of outdoor activities and other attractions just waiting to be discovered. Within only a 10-minute drive of the village is the National Trust property of Cragside House and Gardens, whilst 15 minutes to the east is the beautiful Heritage Coast with its spectacular sandy beaches and unspoiled shoreline. In a lovely setting beside the River Coquet is Brinkburn Priory, a restored Augustinian priory. The glorious National Park is also within easy reach. Longframlington has an award-winning butchers and village shop and a friendly pub that serves good food and ales. The village also has gardens of over 12 acres with arboretum walks to be enjoyed.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Reviews

We have stayed in three lodges now and this was by far the largest (approx. 1000 sq.ft.) and the best from an interior and location perspective. It is likely newer than the other lodges we have stayed in and is well appointed and central for touring the mid/north of Northumberland. If arriving in the night, it could be difficult to find but I checked the SatNav Coordinates beforehand which are 55°17'40.1"N 1°48'10.3"W or 55.294463, -1.802857. One small criticism is the lodge has a security alarm and the PIR in the bedrooms are sensitive so the slightest movement in the night and they are triggered and give off a light for a few seconds. Useful to have an alarm though when leaving the lodge during the day.

We stayed here for a week's family holiday and this was really first class accommodation. The cottage is located on a quiet farm and has absolutely stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The location is incredibly peaceful, a real get away. The cottage seems almost newly built and has been finished to a really high standard, in a very modern and contemporary style whith amazing attention to detail which we really liked. Good wi-if too which is always a bonus! Couple of good pubs in the village nearby and loads of attractions in the area. Overall an excellent holiday cottage, impossible to fault - very highly recommended.
