From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
Had an amazing time. The cottage itself was lovely, and very clean. The underfloor heating worked a treat and was so nice after being out on a cold rainy dog walk! We used the log burner a few times but it definitely wasn’t necessary for warmth as the heating was so good! We liked it for that cosy feeling :) There are lots of games and dvds to use in the lounge so you’ll never be bored. Our niece also loved the two horses that are right outside the cottage! Make sure you have a cheque book as a refundable bond of £125 is required when staying here (unsure if this is a Sykes Cottages thing or just something this particular owner asks for, payable by cheque only). The owner will post the cheque back out to you if the cottage is left how it was found (no breakages etc). I’ve stayed in a few holiday homes/cottages and this is by far the best. If you are thinking of booking here, do it! You won’t be disappointed!
We have stayed in many beautiful cottages over the years and this one is right up there with the very best of them. Full of character but with state of the art luxury hotel features, such as “raindance” showers, a clawfoot tub and underfloor heating (although the property is so well insulated we didn’t need it!) The house was a real treat, bathed in natural light from clever use of roof lights in the lounge and massive windows in the kitchen/diner. Furnished to a very high standard it made for a wonderfully comfortable stay. Alice our dog loved the garden and the many nearby walks and especially loved swimming in the stream that runs close by. We love to cook and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need - even down to a slow cooker! Fiona who met us, was so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our other guests also agreed that it was the best holiday cottage they had ever stayed in and thoroughly enjoyed their time at Lane Foot Cottage
We stayed in Feb with our three children and dog Big wow when we walked and settled straight away. The host Fiona has furnished the house to a very high standard and we loved it. Lazy days/nights in front of the log burner. Plenty of walks around the area , Bentham is a lovely village , all pubs and restaurants extremely dog and child friendly. Shoet drive to some beautiful places We've just booked again for next year !! Would recommend if you need a break away and to be comfortable for a week
