Situated just five miles from the popular town of Bala, the traditional Welsh village of Llanuwchllyn is located at the southern end of Bala Lake - the largest natural body of water in Wales. With a shop, petrol station and pub serving excellent food, the village is best known as the headquarters of the narrow gauge Bala Lake Railway, offering a nine mile scenic journey along the lakeside. The town of Bala is close by and is renowned as a centre for water sports such as fishing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and whitewater rafting. Within the town itself, visitors can enjoy a range of interesting shops, inns, restaurants and an historical town walk, whilst the Berwyn mountain range offers great walking, cycling and other outdoor activities within easy reach.
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Family booked here for my surprise 50th. This place was perfection for 6 people to enjoy without having to worry about making too much noise, the only neighbours we had was sheep! The barn conversion was a delight, 3 big bedrooms, games room and a lovely big open plan lounge area with log burner. Ample car parking spaces and a lovely big hot tub over looking the countryside which I have to say was the best hot tub we've ever been in, plenty of room for 6 adults and lovely and warm on our first night there. The kitchen is well equipped for 6 adults, and the barn was very clean on arrival. This place would be beautiful in the summer months, lovely big wooden table outside and bbq provided. This place is out of town and there isn't anything to do other than walk, but that was perfect for us.....would definitely recommend.
Visited with my Hubble and sister in May 2018 for my 49th birthday. There are 3 houses in one cluster with very few other houses around as far as the eye can see. We stayed in the converted barn and it was fabulous. Gorgeous hot tub very secluded and looking out into beautiful scenery and fields of sheep. It was lambing season and so many cute lambs only metres from us. 5 minutes walk across fields brings you to a babbling brook very pretty! The owners were lovely and very chatty with advice about area. We visited Dolgellau whilst there lovely little village with gorgeous churches and cafes. Bala lake 10 minutes away with nice cafe on lake and water sports. Would be a really nice plane to bring a big group or whole family as there are 3 houses. Barn itself lovely with 2 nice bathrooms and showers, lovely log burner with plenty of wood and a lovely garden space where the hot tub is. Ending the holiday very relaxed!!
Beautiful accommodation, very rural and peaceful away from all the stresses of life. We wanted somewhere to chill with friends for a week and this was perfect. The outdoor hot tub was lovely to stargaze from and was a reason we booked this property. The views were amazing, we were not disappointed at all. We ventured out a couple of times but it is a long way from anywhere, although there is a little village for all you essentials. Highly recommended.
