Bettyhill is a friendly highland village on the north coast some 13 miles from Tongue and 30 miles from Thurso, the main town serving this part of Scotland. The special attraction here is the stunning Torrisdale Bay situated to the west of Bettyhill which boasts a mile long beach of fabulous golden sands. The village has good facilities for locals and visitors such as a general store and a post office along with a museum and tourist information centre and a leisure centre with an indoor swimming pool, gym, Jacuzzi and sauna.
Lovely break in stunning location. Cottage has been tasteful decorated and lots of thought put into it. We were a little bit disappointed that there was no Freeview (despite it being listed in the advert) and one thing that would definitely have helped was a freezer, even just an ice making try for a G&T. But these are small things. The garden is lovely but spoiled by the free roaming sheep getting into it constantly because of broken boundary fences at the rear. Created a lot of mess and is easily fixed. We are country people so are used to sheep wandering about near our house, but we keep them out of our garden.
