We returned back from Whitby yesterday after staying at high ridge for the last week. We stayed here in 2020 also and again it was very clean and welcoming. The apartment is in a great location, and 100% worth the money. You get the most amazing views over the abbey from the living room. They provide you with parking passes so you don't have to worry about paying for parking. We will deffo be returning again next year. Thankyou for a great stay!
The Apartment , location and views ate unsurpassed in Whitby in our opinion. Lovely alleyways guide you to find this central quiet and cosy hideaway. The interior and view are mesmericly funky. Clean, modern and well appointed this rooftop cosy apartment makes for a true Whitby stay. We loved it, the sunrises, quiet evenings and right in heart of old town made for a memorable time for us both. Whitby at is Gothic Romantic, Seaside best.
This is a 2 floor apartment that is accessed via 2 flights of stairs through a shared main entrance. On the first floor the apartment has a has a nice sized double bedroom with plenty of storage for your clothes and a decent bed with linen that smelled nice and fresh. The bedroom window was overlooking the back street, the window itself lifts up to open letting in lots of fresh air (which is important to me) but when closed it isn't very good at keeping out any noise but noise on silver street is quite rare through the night luckily. It has a bathroom with a bath and a good shower (some showers can be like standing under a dripping tap!) The kitchen also on the first floor was a good size too with everything you need for self catering. On the second floor was the sitting room, it has a 2 seater sofa a comfy chair and a dining table but being in the loft part of the building the shape of the ceiling might be a nuisance for taller people I'm 5'2 and was fine :) . The views from the kitchen and sitting room are facing the abbey and sea so are lovely to look out on. The apartment itself I found to be clean and tidy. It allows pets but it didn't smell of dogs (like some do) and there was no dog hair anywhere. High Ridge is situated very near to the swing bridge and shopping area of Whitby, really handy to nip back and forth to. Its surrounded by cafes and pubs and take-aways so you never have to walk far if your hungry. The most important thing to me when booking a holiday in the UK is price, I hate feeling ripped off but I think the price of High Ridge is one of the best for what you get, its just a shame it doesn't have a parking space as I found it a nightmare finding a space close by. I will definitely be booking again next year. If your OK with stairs you cant go wrong with this place.
