Stayed here last weekend and what a wonderful cottage it is, can't think of a bad thing to say about it. Perfect location in a delightful village, off road parking huge bonus, cosy little courtyard to sip wine in the sun. Our dog loved it too, some great walks to Bakewell and Monsal Head. All the rooms inside the cottage are top quality with lots of extra little touches. Quality linen and towels, the welcome pack was so nice as not many have milk where we've stayed before and it's really helpful. I could happily move into this cottage everything about it was perfect, clean, cosy, quality and well worth a repeat visit. Bulls Head pub round the corner is great, serving lovely food...dog friendly too. Went to Packhorse at Great Longstone for lunch Sunday, wow what a find!
My partner booked us a few days away in Rose Cottage, with our dog. I have to say how beautifully comfortable, very warm, hot at times, it was. The lovely bed linen, comfortable beds. I slept like a log, although they are very small for two people, so we both slept in separate beds, bath towels awfully small, not suitable to dry after a shower. It was spotless. Wonderful kitchen, we had breakfast in there. We did not cook anything there, ate out, but everything was provided should anyone needed to cook a meal. Lovely kettle, very heavy to lift, toaster and fridge freezer. Good quality appliances make all the difference. The lighting in the kitchen was not good, by that I mean the placing of them. The kitchen had everything you could wish for, loads of crockery, utensils, very well stocked, even down to the dishwasher tablets and soap powder. It all makes it so much more comfortable when one has all the necessary items to hand. Shame the same cannot be said for the so called ‘welcome basket’, very poor indeed, just some shortbread, few coffee pods, which do not appeal to us, a box of tea, no milk or the important items at all. There was a small courtyard for our dog, which was good, although of course we took him out and about with us, walked him locally. I think this Cottage is just lovely, even down to the fact that I could get my large vehicle off the road, the neighbouring properties who owned cars left theirs very near to the driveway, perhaps the owner could mention that, we just about managed to awing my car in and out, not sure how two cars would manage. Thank you for a lovely stay and yes I would recommend your lovely cottage to other people. In fact I would be quite happy actually living in it myself on a permanent basis!,
Rose cottage has all the charming quaint features that a cottage should have. It is stunning inside, and equipped to a very high standard. Excellent location, tucked away off the road in lovely village of Ashford. Will definitely be returning.
