Had a week here & loved the cottage. It’s well equipped, beds very comfortable. Nice little welcome pack to get you started. Parking is a bit tight but we got a Volvo XC40 in no problem. If your nervous there is the main road you can park on or across the road is another quiet road where a number of cars are being parked. We used it one day as neighbours we’re moving and needed to block the road with a van. Plenty of dog walking areas near cottage for first & last thing. Garden is enclosed. You can walk into Matlock in about 15 minutes but be aware that walking back is a bit tough as it’s all uphill. We did it loads. Mazzis for Indian delivery was very nice and good value. Chippy behind the cottage on back roads also very nice. Would happily go again.
Great base although Matlock was not what i expected. Fab round walks along White Peak using the maps in the cottage and briliant day out at Chatsworth. Precarious walk to Matlock Bath and then cable car ride and walk back - bit hairy for the doggies. Downside was that after encountering cross neighbour who clearly came out to harangue visitors on changeover day we parked on a "safe" area on the hill and a joy rider wrote off our car in the early morning of the last day. Although the cottage was brilliantly equipped - great to have Netflix etc - it was a bit on the dirty side with bits of old food between the cushions on the sofa and under it and cobwebs everywhere. The welcome package was very generous though so we forgave them the dirty sock on the sofa.
