Ross-on-Wye 2 miles. A fabulous barn conversion dating from the 19th century, in a rural location in the grounds of the owner’s home, close to Ross-on-Wye and The Forest of Dean in the beautiful Wye Valley. The Hayloft has been tastefully and sympathetically renovated using all its original structures in keeping with its surrounding area. This unique property can offer three lovely bedrooms, and would be suitable for a family or friends who wish to enjoy a peaceful break in this delightful location. Enter through the large glass sliding door and take in the stylish atmosphere, with a deliberate mixture of vintage and modern furniture and décor, the cottage has made use of its original beams and sleepers, offering a homely yet contemporary feeling. The open-plan living area offers a dining area upon the dark slate tile flooring, where you can gather for the evening meal, or relax at the breakfast bar with a drink, before retiring to the seating in front of the woodburning stove. The cottage has the added benefit of a ground-floor bedroom and two ground-floor bathrooms, while two staircases bring you to the rustic first-floor accommodation featuring exposed beams and original slatted timbers. One set of stairs leads to the king-size room, with the other leading to the twin room and the splendid sitting room which is home to an inviting leather sofa, TV and a selection of books, the perfect place to curl up watching your favourite show or getting lost in a book. An original door from the sitting room to the larger bedroom is restricted in height, another feature telling the historical story of the property, hence why the owner thoughtfully added the second staircase. A further individual touch is the outdoor covered seating area, complete with a bar which is the perfect place to relax with friends on a summer evening, unwinding with a refreshing drink. The Hayloft is situated in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside offering many walking and cycling routes right from your doorstep. Take a trip to the nearby riverside town of Ross-on-Wye to enjoy the selection of tearooms, pubs and local shops, before continuing to wander alongside the meandering River Wye, keeping your eyes peeled to observe the local wildlife. For the more adventurous, many outdoor activities can be enjoyed in the surrounding area and the Forest of Dean, such as mountain biking, canoeing, climbing and many more. The Hayloft is a characterful and querky property, providing beautiful holiday accommodation in a unique style.

We had a fantastic week at the Hayloft which is a beautiful, quirky barn conversion - loved by the adults, teenagers and dog! A beautiful location, with secure walled garden, a farm shop around the corner and walks from the doorstep. A great base to relax and unwind in comfort as well as explore this beautiful part of the countryside. Great paddle boarding in Symonds Yat, river swimming at Sellack and some great market towns and pubs nearby. We will definitely return in the winter to try out the log burner - not necessary this holiday with temperatures hitting 30 degrees! Thank you to Jo and Al for the useful tips and advice.
All loose free standing furniture is ancient, probably from the 70's and it is not refurbished it's worn out and extremely uncomfortable. This Hayloft sleeps 6 people but there is not enough seating in the lounge area to sit six. There are no wardrobes, nowhere to hang clothing, we could not unpack. There are no dressing tables. No central lighting upstairs, just very dim bedside lamps. Very uncomfortable double bed upstairs, saggy mattress. Nowhere to put wash bag in bathroom. There should've been 4 of us on holiday but when we arrived and saw what we had come to we rang the other couple who were coming the next day and told them not to waste their time and fuel because it wasn't suitable for us and we stayed 2 days and returned home. Very expensive 2 night uncomfortable stay for 2 people.
We have had the best time here. Cooked and watched loads of Netflix! When the weather was good we visited places advised in the guest book. Brilliantly clean, extremely well equipped home from home. Fresh clean linen and pristine bathrooms. As well as all that a home made cake to arrive to. Wifi throughout which was fantastic as my youngest brought his ps4. Logs per huge basket only £6 each. Log fire was used throughout our stay but not because the barn was chilly as central heating throughout. I highly recommend staying here as it will suit all, young and old. Bedroom downstairs and shower room then a separate bath room. Just shows you can have a fantastic holiday in this lovely British weather! Thank you Jo and Al.
