Inside, there is also a fitted kitchen, utility, dining area and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. To the outside is off road parking for one car and a lawned garden to the front with furniture, as well as a courtyard to the rear with tables and chairs. Resting in a central location, and a short walk to local attractions, Bank Cottage can be enjoyed throughout the year. Note: One well-behaved dog welcome.

Location Details

It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. Today visitors continue to enjoy magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and hills and dales to the south and a number of towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale.

Shocked that this is the first review on here! Bank Cottage is a beautiful property in a perfect location for your stay in Buxton. Shops, town centre, restaurant, pub all within a 2 to 10 minute walk. The cottage itself is 250 years old and has been beautifully and lovingly modernised by the owners. Don't think because it's a cottage that it's small! It's HUGE and just so comfortable and homely. 2 large double bedrooms, a further bedroom with 2 single beds. Enormous bathroom upstairs with bath and shower and large shower room with toilet downstairs. Enormous dining room and kitchen with utility room, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, fridge and a fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, ironing board, board games. Very large bath sheets/towels are provided. Owners left a bottle of wine and biscuits which was a lovely gesture and contacted us on our first day to ensure everything was ok. Front garden is a beautiful haven with a table and benches. There are a few steps at top of the stairs that lead to bedroom and quite a steep step in the bathroom so people with mobility issues may struggle. We took my 75 year old mum and managed though with help from us. Bonus having the downstairs shower and toilet. Few steps on front of cottage but you can access back door where you park your car so not a problem. Car space is tight on back if another car is next to you but our car isn't big so not a problem for us. Lovely restaurant literally around the corner, Lubens. Baileys restaurant and bar a 5 to 10 minute walk down the hill also is phenomenal! Marstons pub across the road. No noise heard from inside cottage. Sainsburys 5 minute walk around the corner. My mum has been very ill recently and undergone 2 heart operations and barely done anything for 3 years. Sounds corny but Bank Cottage and Buxton bought her back to life. It is just a piece of paradise and has such a beautiful ambience. I honestly wish that I could afford to go more often or pick it up and bring it home with me. We only spent 2 nights here but felt very emotional when leaving. Thank you Hayley and Pete. You have obviously put a lot of thought, love and blood, sweat and tears into your beautiful cottage. I highly recommend it. Not got upstairs photos as filmed instead! Pictures from owner are genuine!
