Superb cottage, very homely with all mod cons. Ideal for families with children. Great location for country and coastal walks. Only a short drive away from attractions such as Dunster Castle and the local Torre Cider Farm, which is great for adults and children. The garden in this cottage is great for entertaining children and having barbecues.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Tus Nua, our grandchildren loved the swings and slide in the garden. We found the cottage very clean and very comfortable and very child friendly with stair gates and toys and dvd's to keep the children occupied. Will seriously consider returning in the future.
Lovely comfortable house. Beautifully clean and we'll equipped. Very close to lots of activities. Really enjoyable few days and would love to return.
This holiday home has been so well thought out. My son was delighted by the swing set, the games, bunk beds and DVDs available. The modern home was clean, spacious and well stocked with all we needed. The owner clearly takes pride in making it as comfortable as possible for the guests. We had a lovely break exploring some of the local harbours and beaches fossil hunting, crabbing and eating lots of yummy ice cream. We’ll definitely be happy to spend another holiday in Tus Nua.
Really impressed with this modern cottage. The owner has thought of everything you may need to make your stay perfect. It is family friendly, but equally suitable for adults. The beds were very comfy, good towels and tasteful decor to give a calm, relaxing environment. Bearing in mind we stayed in February when it snowed and sleeted, it was warm, cosy and welcoming. Good to have off road parking and lovely views from the first floor of green rolling hills to the rear. Easy to find and access the property and well situated to explore the beautiful area, being just a stone's throw away from Dunster and Minehead. There was even a customised ordinance survey map on the dining wall surrounded by pictures of places of interest, which was very useful. Would be very disappointed if this property was not available for our next visit to the area.
If you have booked this place, cancel now if you can. There is no mobile signal, no decent wifi signal, no tumble dryer and no radiators on which washing can be dried - just 2 tiny glass electric heaters which were never on. The fireplace in the lounge was in bits, but it did work - just unsafe! The place is tiny, a house in miniature. The one TV is tiny, no clock or radio is provided. There is nothing to do in Carhampton and nowhere to go as you are in the middle of a normal working class estate where the neighbours all stare at you! There was no fancy wine for us, or welcome pack! The property was generally very dirty with mouldy black bathroom, just the one bathroom which we had to bleach on arrival. The pictures you can see of the property are well out of date, even the cushions in the lounge etc are all flat and dirty. The front garden was full of huge weeds which our kids enjoyed pulling out. We sprayed weedkiller ourselves as we were there for 4 weeks and we have standards even if the owner and cleaner do not. The back garden was mowed on day 1 of our stay only, and then left so the lawn became overgrown and unusable by the kids. The place was crammed full of baby stuff, even a pram, which we did not need and we had to put it all in the shed to survive! The kitchen was filthy, with a stinking recycle bin and minging dishwasher. The oven stinks when turned on and the kitchen drawers and cupboards were dirty and full of crumbs and tat. The cream chairs in the kitchen are stained and manky. Even the ironing board was in bits, this was the only one of our complaints the owner dealt with - he sent another cheapo one from Argos. Oh Joy! We were there for 4 weeks, no cleaner ever turned up and when we complained the owner said he was not paying for a cleaner as Sykes could not make him do so. We did get a linen change, but had to beg. The heating is controlled by the owner via wifi and rarely was it on - even when we begged. What a Scrooge! No, Scrooge probably paid for a decent phone signal! Never Again!
Tús Nua is fabulous for families – superbly equipped for travellers with babies & toddlers. Those with older kids will love the nearby steam railway and beaches. The house is cosy, fresh and beautifully appointed… everything has been thought of to facilitate a superb relaxing break.
Well appointed family friendly holiday home. Dunster Castle is nearby, the beach is only a few mins drive away. Minehead is only 4 miles away with a lovely beach, lots of little shop and cafes. There are 3 supermarkets in Minehead too. Would highly recommend this property very clean and modern, everything you need including cot, bath, pushchair and a swing/slide is in the property. Had a wonderful week here for Christmas, the owner even decorated the house and put a tree up for us. The owner replies very quickly to calls/texts.
