Reviews

We arrived to Porthleven after an eleven hours journey and appreciated the welcoming gifts. We used the heater at the evening as the weather was still chilly. The SKY box was a nice surprise. The double bed was very comfortable, we had quite nights. We had afternoon teas on the little terrace. The whole cottage is spotlessly clean, the kitchen is well equipped with new technology, electric hob and oven. At arrival it wasn't easy to identify the cottage as there is no name or number on it. We ordered food delivery for the week, found the fridge and especially the freezer very small. A reminder to open the screen at the bath as the end of the bath has a very steep slope and the slip mat has a tendency to move very easily, always use the hand grab! There is no allocated parking spot for the cottage, although you can park up on the pavement on the street behind, alternatively there is a free car park which is 5 minutes walk uphill, called Top Park. The closest restaurant is the Atlantic Inn which is a few minutes walk away.

This reasonably priced charming cottage which had some nice features. We loved the flowers and bottle of wine on the welcome. It can have parking issues however, especially if the weather's not good, and the walk, with bags, from the official carpark is long and damp. We were surprised that there was no wifi in this day and age and, although is wasn't mentioned in the booking, it is probabaly worth mentioning as many attractions in the area do web-bookings these days and the mobile signal was a bit on and off. The bins were overflowing outside, I believe a function of neighbours tipping, which wasn't great. The rest of the facilities were fine, and we did have a lovely time in Porthleven and West Cornwall as always.
