Portreath is nestled in a stream valley between high cliffs. It has a secluded sandy, safe beach which is popular with families and surfers alike. The village has several shops including beach shops, a take away, several pubs and cafes, plus cliff tops for walking with panoramic seascapes.
Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.
Stayed here in 2017 that's why we returned. The cottage hadn't been cleaned there was dust everywhere and food in the corner on the floor. No hand sanitizer and a very dirty toothbrush holder. Had to report lack of hot water and had to get the cleaner out half way through the holiday. It's a lovely cottage in a nice location but the owners dont care if your holiday is ruined. Hairs also on the bedding and towels. Complained with no luck so hope whoever's stays there dosent have the same problems we had.
We have just returned from a 7 night stay in the Hayloft and dispite the location confusion, we really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is listed as in Portreath but it is infact in Camborne. Lovely place, very cosy and perfect for 2x people. We had dreadful weather so the welcoming and homely vibe was welcomed. Very well equipt kitchen and extremely spacious. Nice garden, not that we could use it due to the weather but still very nice to look at. The grass was very long wgich made picking up after our dog very difficult but just a minor negative. Good Wi-Fi and tv signal, lovely powerful shower and very good log burner. No logs on arrival which was abit disappointing. Only thing I would say is watch out for the stair! Steep and sloppy even in slippers and shoes. I fell down them one evening and was left black and blue for a good week or so after. Note to cleaner ... less polish. Would return again. Very comfortable place and well worth the money.
