Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Reviews

Lovely place, friendly staff and a nice tour of the animals. Watching peacocks wander in through the gate is a treat. Exceptionally clean, all mod cons as needed and a few lovely added extras. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t working but we were given a refund and reasonable explanations as to the efforts gone to fix this.

The good points, welcome pack, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits and a bottle of fizz. really lovely animals on the farm. The bad points unfortunately very much outweigh the good points. Tablets left from a previous visitor in a bedside draw Underwear left from a previous visitor in a draw under the bed. Towel rails scalding hot to touch, and advised by the owner to turn off it too hot - which they really all were - be careful. To turn off you needed to stand on a chair as switch over door. New towel rail in one bathroom replaced on last day, however still was scalding hot as no thermostat which is needed. Toaster broken, utensils broken, when reported new ones were supplied however, we were told to bin the damaged ones ourselves and left to dispose of. No wardrobes or draws in two of the bedrooms, please pack light as there really is no storage space. The only room with draws was the twin room and even one of them draws did not open. Clothes were hanging from curtain rails. Absolutely nowhere to dry wet clothes if you have been in the hot tub, unless you use the scalding towel rails, however you then have no room for the wet towels. A completely ridiculous situation. Even a clothes line outside would be a bonus. Then hot tub jets were broken, and whilst they did try and repair them they did by turning off electricity without warning for over two hours leaving my elderly parents unable to watch TV or even make a cup of tea, as parents wanted to stay in whilst we went for a walk. If we had known that they were going to be left without facilities, we would have made alternative arrangements. The parking spaces are on the farm, and there needs to be a warning that your car could be damaged by the animals as ours was. We could go on and on....... Unfortunately, neither Sykes or The Owners of the holiday let are taking any responsibility. This was a holiday to give my mum who is 80 respite care from my father Alzheimers - yet it was a holiday which was stressful throughout. If you do want to book this please do ensure you are fully aware of the lack of space, check the draws, and do not let vulnerable people touch the towel rails. The views are lovely, and with some care and consideration, this could have been such a lovely break away for 6 nights,

I stayed here with my sisters for the weekend. After having two holidays cancelled this year, it was wonderful to get away for a few days. What can I say about this place? We were all very impressed from the moment of arrival. Very homely, spotlessly clean, comfortable and plenty of basics to keep you going like tea, coffee etc. The bottle of fizz was also very welcome. Jo was extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble, she is a very likeable, easy to talk to lady. The fresh eggs she gifted us the next morning were delicious, thank you. The hot tub was the highlight of course, this was also spotless and well maintained. We also loved the animals, and Jo provided us with some food to feed the donkeys, which was fun. The views are amazing. We will return next year for sure and we are already looking forward to it.

Set in a lovely location with only a short drive to some beautiful Yorkshire Dales walks and Bronte country. The owners were lovely and everything was done contactless and smoothly, the cabin was spotless and you can tell they have put a lot of effort into making everything as safe as possible in light of the pandemic. We had an amazing time, there are farm animals all around which we absolutely loved (even if the peacock did wake me up at 5am!). Bedrooms are gorgeous and we had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday, the hot tub was the icing on the cake! Would definitely stay again.

We (mum and dad with kids aged 4 and 2) booked The Old Hen Shed because it was my wife and Sons birthday. The cabin is a perfect mix of modern but cozy. Lots of room and facilities. The farm is lovely and we were able to feed the animals with Jo the owner, which the kids really enjoyed. The hot tub is amazing. I have no faults with the place itself and the surrounding area is surprisingly good for young children. However, I think it would be even better for adults alone as there were a few nearby places that my wife and i would love to have gone but couldn't. For that reason we'll definitely be back. I'd definitely recommend a break here in Autumn and Winter. Overall, fantastic.

Decided to treat the mums to a couple of days away in the country. 5 adults & 2 dogs all stayed at The Old Hen Shed it was beautiful. Very clean, amazing animals on the doorstep. The sparkling rosé you provided was a lovely treat whilst sat in the very clean hot tub! Will definitely be back. Thank you

Just been for 2 nights this place is amazing it's a beautiful cabin very clean and much more spacious than it looks. The animals are brilliant and u can ask to do a tour n meet them all. No time restrictions on the hot tub which is fabulous, and the hosts very friendly.

Myself and my 3 best friends went on a girls weekend. The old hen shed is spotlessly clean , the presseco on arrival is a lovely touch , and basic tea and coffee and milk provided. Beds are comfy, bathrooms all 3 spotless. Hot tub amazing. We had a fab weekend and was noisy, but no complaints. There cat Lucy moved in for the weekend. She’s beautiful. Peacocks in the garden. We all had a fabulous time. Will be definitely going again.

What a beautiful place!! The cabin itself is beautiful, well looked after and maintained. The prosecco on arrival was a nice gesture. Our little girl has been made to feel so free and happy here. Helping in the farm feeding the animals. Jo and Stuart are lovely. We will be booking again! So peaceful and relaxing x

We came to stay to celebrate my 30th birthday.. Upon arrival we were greeted by Shaun and given a bottle of prosecco which was a lovely touch. We got straight in the hot tub and relaxed. The cabin is surrounded by the most beautiful creatures. Peacocks, Alpacas, Goats, Hens, Geese. All of which know there limits and do not try to come into the cabin/hot tub areas. If you take a pet with you they have a dedicated paddock area where they can go do there business, but have to be kept on their lead. There is a forest which is a 5 minute walk away where they can run free. Out cabin (the old hen shed) was sound proofed, so when we were inside making noise or is neighbours were having a party then there was nothing to be heard from inside or out. Cabin was very clean, beds were extremely comfy and we couldn't wish for anything more than what they provided... we even got complimentary fresh eggs for breakfast in the morning.. I got back yesterday and i am already looking to go back for new year! I will definitely recommend this cottage to anyone that asks!

On our way home from a weekend at the old hen shed and we are absolutely gutted to leave! We had a fantastic time, even the kids were crying to have to leave! The interior is fabulous you can not fault it. They have thought of everything you could possibly need and the bottle of fizz on arrival is a fabulous touch. The hot tub is amazing, everywhere is sparkling clean and looks brand new! Can’t recommend this place enough. We will definitely be going back.
