Reviews

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this cottage and felt it deserved a review as it is such a great place to stay in Cornwall. The location of the village is close to Mevagissey and the Lost Gardens of Heligan but it feels very local rather than touristy with an excellent local pub a very short stroll away. We even walked to Mevagissey over rolling hills one day. The cottage is beautifully decorated, very comfy with little extras such as vintage looking fans in each bedroom, DAB radio's, bluetooth speakers and even a Nintendo Wi console for the kids. There is a 2nd reception room that is ideal for kids to have their own films on or use the games console. We were really lucky with the weather and the garden is gorgeous place for an evening BBQ.

Booked this for half term week and loved our stay in a very well presented cottage in a lovely local village. The house was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed for the stay, there are three bedrooms, two large and one smaller one, although that is still a double. It was good for our children because it has a 2nd living room with TV, DVD and games console so the kids could amuse themselves in the evening whilst the adults had the main room with a lovely wood-burner. There is a great local pub in walking distance with friendly locals and a real fire and you are close to many attractions such as Heligan and Eden. As mentioned by a previous reviewer the drive is small although we were able to park our 4x4 on it and we also used the large garage. We wanted to be near places like Mevagissey without being in the tourist crowds and we like a garden where you can enjoy a BBQ so this turned out to be a great choice. We have already booked for summer this year,

We stayed at the cottage about a month ago, on arrival everything seemed lovely it was clean and well equipped. Unfortunately a couple of items such as the toaster and parasol were broken, this was logged with the owner and they did a brilliant job of getting replacements for us towards the end of our stay. I couldn’t help but feel the cleaner or person managing the property could have picked these up earlier though, especially as a BBQ in really hot weather without a parasol and a little one wasn’t great. The rooms were nice, though the double is small so bear this in mind, decorated beautifully throughout. The garage is also well stocked with beach gear so no need to bring your own, it would be helpful to know this before setting off so others don’t need to bring everything. The drive at the front is tiny, bear this in mind if you have more than one big car though there is parking down the road. I wish we had been told that the property has shared access through the garden, this was quite important information to us as we would probably have chosen a different property. Unfortunately with a little one we had hoped not to have to worry about gates. The neighbour did mention they don’t normally have to use it but still, it is shared access. There was ALOT of mid day drilling throughout the week as the house next door seemed to be painted, guttering replaced and possibly windows. Again as it was only in the day it may not be a problem for some but for us it meant it was hard to get our little one to sleep, it may just be we got unlucky. The cottage is lovely, but the few things I have mentioned and the very expensive price for the week left us feeling a little let down hence the 3 stars.

Lovely cosy cottage tucked away in the tiny village of St Ewe. Loved being curled up in front of the wood burner when the wind was blowing outside. Traditional village pub no more than 5 mins stroll away if you don’t want to venture too far. Mevagissey itself is a short drive away if you want a little more choice. Contemporarily decorated with everything we needed. Will definitely return.

Fab stay in this fantastic cottage, ideally located in a picture postcard Cornish village (which includes a local pub serving traditional pub food) and just minutes away from Mevagissy with its large variety of restaurants and pubs. Ideally situated to explore many of Cornwalls tourist hotspots especially The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden and numerous beautiful beaches. The cottage is beautifully decorated with a lovely garden and is equipped with everything you need from a holiday rental. Will definitely be booking a return visit.
