Reviews

Property had many safety and maintenance issues for basic things (such as outdoor locks, toilets, showers, fridge, heating, etc.) - and neither the owners nor the emergency contact numbers that were provided were responsive for any of the issues throughout the stay (via any of phone calls, text messages and WhatsApp messages). We raised this as a complaint after the stay in response to which we received a response that made no sense and was false and misleading on many points. The owner is oblivious to the condition of the property and totally brushed the concerning issues aside with no diligence or correspondence with us. A very odd and concerning practice for a booking at this value. Would not recommend booking unless you want to risk a poorly maintained property and a getaway ruined.

18 of us descended for a weekend of partying and the 3 properties gave us everything we needed. The main house is the perfect setting for a party. Huge lounge - split over 2 levels - and includes a bar area with ice cooler and fridges. Karaoke system with heaps of tunes to choose from and plenty of space for a dance floor too. The kitchen is huge too. A bit dated but fully functional with lots of seating. Oodles of plates, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils - there was nothing missing that we needed. Well equipped gym, a sauna and hot tub with a changing room. Great facilities if that’s your thing. Cinema is fab! Bit of a damp/musty smell but we had been notified that there was a roof leak that was being addressed. The bedrooms in the main house were all good - the master is HUGE with a walk in wardrobe, massive bathroom with jacuzzi bath. The lodge was ok. Given that it was only used to sleep in - it served a purpose but was a little tired. The cottage much the same although it did smell damp/musty. Perhaps it hadn’t been used in a while? All 18 of us ate in the main house and the socialising was all in there too, so the tiredness of these two buildings wasn’t a huge issue at all but they could do with a bit of a spruce up. The whole property was spotless when we arrived (although one of the duvets in the cottage had a dodgy stain which was spotted when the bed was stripped). Given the facilities, the price we paid and the fantastic service from Sammy - one of the property managers - it was great value for money and ticked all of our boxes. Having read other reviews - I agree it could do with money being spent on it but when the nightly rate is as reasonable as this was - you can’t expect 5 star quality but pay 3 star rates. We booked through Sykes and they weren’t the best. Our request that all beds be made up as doubles / kings was not passed onto the property managers. Sammy was first class in sorting this. Arriving to a couple of bottles of fizz and chocolates was a lovely added touch. If you’re looking for a fun place to party with pals and not pay through the nose …….this pad will do the trick!

Beautiful place needs live in maintenance, really poor maintenance jobs done , things missing broken, no love or care been taken. A run down mansion with great potential. Probably a million plus £s would make this a fantastic place.

We booked Park Hill for my husband's 40th and it was the perfect party pad. Highlights were the white party room with bar and karaoke, the cinema room and the gym. All our guests loved it and we all want to go back! It was conveniently located with great views and we were there in winter, but I am sure the outdoor space would be fab in summer too. The kitchen is dated and the jacuzzi is too small for a house of its size but they're the only real niggles. A working outdoor hot tub would be a bonus too. Unlike other reviews, we found it to be generally very clean and would highly recommend it for larger gatherings.

We have just returned from a weekend at a Park Hill celebrating my husbands 70th with the family. This place is amazing and fantastic party venue. Everyone from 5yrs to 70years could enjoy all the facilities it has to offer we all left planning to return when we have another large celebration. The cinema Jacuzzi kareoje room bar Gym party room and kitchen dinning room were all well used. We would highly recommend Park Hill

Lovely entertaining holiday home.. we were a family of 11 from age 2-77. The electric gated garden is huge, well kept and safe for children to play out. The gym was far more equipped than we imagined as the photos don’t show you to it’s full extent. The main bedroom was out of this world with a separate dressing room.. it does include the main bathroom with fantastic double jacuzzi but the door doesn’t lock so some members of our group weren’t comfortable to make use of it. It has a seperate walk-in dressing room as does one of the other bedrooms in the main house and has a huge decked verandah leading off from the bedroom that has fantastic views of the country side. We were disappointed to find though that it was quite dirty as hadn’t been jet washed or brushed prior to our arrival sonhad we used it all the dirty from our feet would have been transferred to the bedroom carpet. To he honest the cleaning wasn’t the best, we had to clean the patio table and chairs so we could use them and it hadn’t been swept so had dead leaves ect scattered.. we took disposable bbq’s to sit on the bbq. And in the party room there was a sticky spillage from previous guests and crumbs ect under the sofas.. The kitchen window sills were full of cobwebs too.. I appreciate it’s a huge house to clean and the windows alone will take a day to clean but maybe their cleaning team isn’t large enough to manage the full house in the 7hr turn around. Like previous reviews said it does need some tlc but we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.. a lovely family get together..it was grand watching films in the very comfy cinema, if you have problems connecting it to the internet contact the owner and he will call you back and help.. The karaoke was very easy to use and had lots of songs although we just streamed YouTube songs to sing to. If you use the hot tub be sure to test the water with the strips in the utility as we didn’t and the chlorine Burnt nostrils and eyes and made skin sore.. not sure what went wrong. There is 2 equipped utilities with 2 washers, 2 dryers, iron ect and many cleaning products and washing powders although we took our own.. a few hoovers too. Could do with two dishwashers as one isn’t enough for so many guests and was temperamental with working. If you walk out on to the main road and turn right you will come to a bridge with steps leading down to a river to walk along. It’s an hour in to Blackpool which we did a few times for the circus, sealife centre, zoo and Lytham st Anne’s for the beach and free outdoor water park based next to the Toby carvery. We ate at Yu chines restaurant about 15 mins away which was really nice although a bit pricey, and we had fish and chips and take aways from the village. Clitheroe town is larger than we thought and has a market non a Tuesday and there’s a large carboot in the cattle market every sunday (first time I’ve ever paid to walk around a car boot £2 each) The cottage and lodge were lovely too and well equipped, they were used mainly for sleeping in as we all ate in the main house as I got a large tesco delivery on the eve we arrived.

We’ve just stayed there for the weekend and the house is out of this world. Easily sleeps over 30 with all the settee beds. There’s room for upgrades around the house but guessing that’s on their agenda. From the party room with the best views, gym, sauna, hot tub , karaoke, bar area and the main bedroom with a judge balcony! The main bathroom has a hot tub in with a tv on the wall just heaven! Cinema room was so chilled and comfy and the grounds are just out of this world, maybe they need a little looking after but just amazing! Will defo be going again!
