Reviews

Fantastic opportunity to get up north and visit lots of other historical villages and castles, the house itself was well equipped with EVERYTHING you need to keep you in a home from home environment.

We visited this venue for one week in May 2024. While the building itself is nice, the furniture throughout is dated and has seen considerably better days, with poorly patched leather seats and broken items overdue for repair. Despite these issues, the beautiful surroundings help to offset the interior's shortcomings. Unfortunately, the terrible service from the owner significantly marred our experience. During our stay, my dad had to repair a reclining chair and a toilet seat. One half of the cooker was broken, but we couldn't fix it. Cobwebs were present in most rooms, but the scenic location somewhat compensated for the average cleanliness. Adding to our frustration, the owner unjustly deducted an additional £100 from our group organizer for "extra cleaning." This felt like daylight robbery, as my family and I left the venue cleaner than when we arrived. We had cleaned, mopped, and even done most of the laundry before leaving. We do not recommend this venue due to the unjustifiable additional costs and poor service.
