Reviews

All good things come to those who wait! We ( a group of 6 life long gal pals and one dog!) booked our stay at the beginning of the year for a week's adventure in Donegal in mid September. It was epic from start to finish! From our arrival into County Donegal we were overwhelmed by the natural beauty of the area visible at every turn....seascapes, lakes, mountains, national park land, beaches...all within walking or short driving distances from the house. The sun shone for the whole of our stay which was unexpected but very much appreciated, and added to the joy of the trip! Hugh's house was everything advertised and more! Immaculately presented, warm and airy with lots of space for everyone to hang out together or to just mooch around and quietly relax. The kitchen was very big and bright with double sinks and freezers, a wine fridge and lots of equipment/ utensils etc making for easy cooking and entertaining. The bedrooms were a great size and the bathrooms had a variety of spa baths and double showers to enjoy . Lovely lawned gardens surround the house, hosting a variety of outdoor eating options - the decking at front of the house in particular was ideal for enjoying a glass of fizz while watching the sun set over the water across from the house. We took the opportunity to see as much of the area as possible and can recommend trips to Fanad Lighthouse ( do the tour- Treasa our guide was very knowledgeable and hilarious), the outstanding beaches at Portsalon and Downings to name a few, wonderful walks in Glenveagh National Park, day tripping in Tory Island and a little retail therapy in Letterkenny. We could have done so much more if we'd had more time - we now actually need a holiday after our holiday in delightful Donegal!
