So said one of our children. Truth is we didn't need to.Minehead and Dunster Castle are near though. As are the shops.... but by car not walking. Family party of 15 with ages ranging from 4 to 70 and every one of us had fallen in love with the place by the time we left. So much to do ...sauna..hot tub...pool..table tennis (I won !)....adjoining paddock for frisbies, games, running,walking......quiet areas...TV lounges etc etc. Minor niggles...the property is on the busy A39 so walking to the village not for toddlers although opposite the gate is a little used path via fields to the Cider Farm at Torre, Check the O/S map before you attempt this. The property is getting on for 15 years old and some wear and tear is evident but the maintenance and cleaning crew are friendly and responsive. We would go back.

We had a family gathering here for a long weekend. The communication prior and post visit was excellent. The house was immaculate and contained everything we needed, plenty for a large party of people. Each room and the whole space was well thought out and included finishing touches. The hottub and outside spaces were excellent with ample furniture and we were lucky to be able to spend time outside enjoying them. The views were amazing and it was a lovely walk to the nearest coastal town. An amazing venue definitely contributed to the enjoyment of our weekend.

WOW!!! My daughter in law excelled herself when she found this superb holiday let . In all my years I have never stayed in a nicer or well equipped holiday home, ample pots for everything you need to prepare and cook, all spotlessly clean along with the whole property which is very nicely furnished too . The position is perfect too , so many lovely places around to visit if you can tear yourself away from the byres ! We were all so impressed and loved our stay and were blessed with the unexpected ‘heatwave’ in February ! Making it an even better time but even so if it had rained every day nothing could have dampened our love for the place . None of us could fault any part of it and cannot wait to visit again . The grandchildren loved the snooker, table tennis and we all loved the hot tub and sauna . In all a wonderful time with the family where happy memories were made to treasure always . Thank you to all who provide such a lovely place for us to share in ☺️

A large group of us descended on Old Byres for New Year’s 2019. The house has loads of things to keep children and adults of all ages entertained for days. From a Hot Tub and very effective sauna to a decent size pool table and toys and games in the cupboards. Not forgetting outdoor aspects such as table tennis and a kids Wendy house. We didn’t get in the pool as it was winter but it looked great. Big TVs & audio facilities are present. I think 3 log burners from memory providing a lovely feel to an already warm house. Stacks of space, even a second utility area with a spare fridge which is very handy when going away with big numbers. Massive lounge plus a large family/dining area with plenty of seats for dinner. The cleanliness was superb. The people who look after the house were extremely helpful and responsive. Really easy check-in with a great welcome package. From start to finish Sara (the owner) was fantastic to deal with. Location excellent for day trips or just sightseeing locally.
