We left the property a few days ago now and to be honest, I’m only just starting to come to terms with it. Really didn’t want to leave and a week didn’t feel like long enough at all! Rudyard Lake is lovely, the circular walk around it is definitely worth doing. The property itself has been fitted out to a very high spec and a lot of thought and care has obviously gone into it. Really good for dogs, secure enclosed garden and walks from the door. Lots of squirrel spotting! The hot tub was bliss. I really have no negatives and definitely hope to return. Well done to the owners, a really smashing holiday destination!

This is the second time we stayed at Kipling Lodge. Cannot fault the lodge itself. Great location and clean hence why we came again, but unfortunately during our second stay the hot tub began to lose water. We told the owners who automatically asked if it was my children jumping/messing with light covers which caused the loss of water. This was not the reason as I was supervising the entire time, and eventually the tub was topped up. The next day the water level dropped again and immediately informed the owners but there was no rush on their part to sort out. A couple of weeks after our stay we received a phone call from the company regarding damage to the hot tub and that we were being billed for damage at the bottom of the hot tub. Very upsetting. Luckily the insurance paid for the damage but felt my children were being blamed for damage for something at the bottom of the hot tub (which is what the pictures indicated) when they never even went underneath the water. I'm not sure if they even considered wear and tear. My children would loved to have come again but unfortunately we would not return after this. Disappointed .

Just home from a week at this lovely Lodge. The Lodge itself was finished to a high standard , clean and with all you need to make your stay comfortable. The under floor heating was a god send and the lodge was a cosy base to come home too after a day exploring the local area. The view from the lounge was beautiful and we had regular visits from the local squirrel population along with lots of birds. Hot tub was amazing and just the way to relax both during the day and evening. It was maintained on a daily basis which was good. The owners were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Would definitely recommend and would come back in the future.

We have just returned from our short break away at Kipling Lodge. It was a lovely quiet few days, very relaxing. Myself, Husband, Son (3) and dog thoroughly enjoyed the lodge. Spacious, comfy, finished to a high standard & has all the mod cons. The hot tub is a fab addition & very private which is nice and also well managed as this is checked daily by the owners. The lodge is close to the Rudyard Hotel where we visited for dinner (super dog friendly) which was lovely. The lakeside cafe (also dog friendly) is a short walk away too and offers lovely breakfast rolls, hot drinks & cakes. The lodge was spotlessly clean, had cloths, fairy liquid, dishwasher tabs & tea towel. Also, a lovely bottle of wine in the fridge - a nice touch. Iron & ironing board, hooover, brushes etc also stored in a kitchen cupboard. As a dog friendly lodge, a couple of things could be improved. An enclosed garden is one & we would have liked to visit a couple of places without the dog but the rules state not to leave animals unattended in the lodge, well behaved or otherwise. However this didn't stop us from having a lovely time. We have already recommended the lodge to two families and would love to visit again in the future. Thank you Matt & Mark.

Kipling Lodge is excellently maintained, so clean and lovely furnishings. Meet and greet by owners appreciated and always contactable for any queries. Hot tub was wonderful at the end of a busy day. Lovely walk around the Lake which is only a couple of minutes walk away. Many places to visit in surrounding area - a day at Trentham Gardens is recommended.

We visited Kipling Lodge for a week. Ourselves, 2 young nephews and Grandma. As it was a wide age range it is always difficult to please everybody. However Kipling Lodge did just that, everyone was happy. The accommodation was High Spec.. and Spacious. 2 level balcony and a superb HotTub. Pretty views and walking distance of Rudyard Lake. We would definitely recommend *****

Everything was perfect, the lodge was immaculate, the surroundings were tranquil. 5 minute walk to the lake, 5 minute walk to the pub a hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. Drive in any direction to reach the fabulous Peak District countryside. The lodge was warm, comfortable and the owners Mark & Matt certainly ensured that we had a great stay. Probably the best lodge we have stayed in by far. Would definitely book again.

We spent 2 glorious nights 5-7 October 2018 at Kipling Lodge! This has definitely set the bar high for all future family breaks! Everything about the lodge was very high spec & spotlessly clean! The hot tub was so relaxing after the beautiful local walks. Thank you Matt for your hospitality & for the welcome drinks, particularly the wine!

We stayed at kipking lodge between August 25th-1st Sept 18. The lodge us absoulety fantastic !!The lodge has been refurbished to an extremely high standard and there was 6 of us in total but there was loads of room for us all and the hot tub was amazing !! Great for relaxing and our Autistic son loved the hot tub so much wants us to get one! Lodge was spotless when we arrived and we was shown round by the owners Matt&Mark who are just lovely and were very welcoming . Really liked the additions of the washer dryer/dishwasher really helped after a long day out . The beds were so so comfortable as was the sofas .Big table and chairs also near the kitchen area was great as we always sit for meals together at the table ..loved the fact we were able to cook our own meals from scratch there as the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need and very good quality. The surrounding area is lovely ..very peaceful and tranquil. Also canoeing on Rudyard Lake was fantastic at a really good price too. We visited Trentham Gardens which was amazing ..lots for different ages to do ..my son loved the maze! We also rented a Narrow boat for the day at Derby while wd were there (about an hour car drive from the lodge)but well worth it . Farm foods Asda Sainsbury Lidil and Aldi not far . The lodge was a home from home for us and are looking forward to rebooking for another holiday in the near future . We highly recommend Kipling lodge just superb in a gorgeous setting . Thanks Matt&Mark

For the three of us, all over 60, admittedly, Kipling Lodge is now the benchmark other lodges will have to live up to and it is clear that the owners have not stinted in its refurbishment. The lodge is incredibly high-end in terms of the quality of the fixtures and fittings. The kitchen is superb. The dinner service and matching oven to tableware is just beautiful and encourages the user to make the table presentation for meals more like a five-star hotel than a holiday lodge. The saucepans etc are also good quality as is the range of cooking utensils. The main bathroom is excellent and the shower is big enough for anyone to get in easily. The showers themselves in the main bathroom and in the ensuite are identical, but the cubicle in the ensuite is more challenging for those who are less flexible. Two bedrooms have 5’ beds and the third is two bunk beds. The underfloor heating can be zoned, so that the bedrooms remain cool whilst the main room is warm underfoot. The furniture in the main sitting area is also good quality and comfortable with a pleasant view over the well-maintained garden and grassy area beyond. The outside eating area is secluded and next to the hot-tub. We found the adjacent lakeside excellent and the Rudyard Light Steam Railway, which runs alongside the lake is an enjoyable resource, although we found it fabulous for walking the dog early in the morning before anyone else was up. Within easy reach is Leek, a charming market town which has a substantial Sainsburys and a big Lidl will opening soon. 30 minutes away is Buxton and Chester is about an hour and twenty minutes drive. We loved it and we will be back

Lovely location being very near to the picturesque Rudyard lake, perfect for picnics and walking the dog. Nearby is Leek which has some lovely independent shops and a large Sainsbury's store to meet all your needs. The lodge is beautiful and a lot of thought and hard work has gone into making it an ideal place to spend a holiday, the hot tub adds to the relaxation. Very comfortable beds and the added bonus of an en suite to one of the three bedrooms. It has been beautifully refurbished an upgraded to a very high standard. Would definitely recommend and will be looking to return or visit the owners second holiday let in the future.

Lovely location, stunning views and an excellent surrounding for a relaxing get away. Sharing an area with several other lodge like houses and a caravan park, it is very quiet and tranquil. We were not disturbed once! Me and my partner stayed here with another couple and have left with nothing but excellent feedback! Just on your doorstep is a stunning lake with a very picturesque walking route. A lovely pub is just a few minutes walk, as well are a few more routes for walking. The hot tub was fantastic. Spending most of our nights winding down and relaxing. It is a comfortable size for 4 adults and a nice way to finish your day. The lodge was very clean and made us very comfortable! We cannot wait to stay again!
