This is our second Christmas spent at Woodstock lodge and again it exceeded all expectations. Our daughter has had the most magical Christmas here and so have we. Everything is catered for and spending Christmas Day in the hot tub made it that more special. We can’t wait to return.
Just returned from a 2 night girls weekend at Woodside Lodge and have to say this place is amazing!! Beautiful modern decor and spotless. The lodge also had beautiful Xmas decorations with Xmas trees both inside & small ones outside and felt very cosy. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need there and nice touches such as homemade mince pies & scones and also a welcome hamper packed with goodies The hot-tub is amazing and they provide robes/slippers/towels. Large flatscreen Tv/sound system, sky, all utensils/crockery etc., provided. The lodge is also in an elevated position with stunning views and large wrap round balcony. Perfect in all ways! Will definitely be back ❤️
Where do I start? This was our first trip to Scotland as a family and we knew we were in for a treat the minute we booked online, but we didn't realise just how special Woodstock lodge would be. We arrived to a very warm friendly (covid-safe) welcome from John who talked us through everything we needed to know. The lodge its self was amazing! Everything had been thought of, from cotton buds to towels and the most thoughtful welcome basket, home made scones, lemonade and even a bottle of wine! The kids were also amazed when they went to bed to discover a chocolate bar had been left for them! The lodge is on a lovely quite private part of the site and is nicely set back near the woods for wildlife spotting. The hot tub was a lovely way to unwind after a busy day, however it was so warm when we visited we didn't use it all that much. My personal favorite however what the front deck. The perfect place to sit with a glass and get stuck into a good book. There is also a washer dryer which came in handy too. Location wise, you have everything near by. We went from Wemyss Bay over to Bute (You can see the ferry terminal from the lodge deck so you always know what times the crossings are). We also visited, Largs, Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae, Loch Lomond (Cruise from Ballock) and Edinburgh (1.5hr drive). The beach is a 15 minute walk from the lodge where you can find the most amazing pieces of sea glass. You can also drive and park right along side. We visited on four occasions, the first time we even saw a pod of four dolphins up close!! There is also a lovely walk just down the hill and to the left (signposted costal path route) where you'll find some lovely waterfalls. If you get the chance to book up at Woodstock, just take it! We loved every second and really didn't want to return home. Thank you John and Paul for an amazing week. We cant wait to come back again!
Just home from a week's stay at the lodge. Loved everything about it. The lodge sleeps 6 with 2 doubles and a twin. Absolutely everything had been thought of from a very generous welcome pack which included scones and homemade jam, to 'how tos' for everything, robes and slippers and hot tub flip flops. We took a lot of things with us and needn't have bothered as everything was available. The lodge was spotless and the views just made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The hot tub was amazing. The owners had litterally thought of everything. Just a brilliant week. We hope to visit again soon.
We booked a week here over Easter and awesome does not describe the lodge or the hosts. as it was Easter they had placed Easter eggs all around the lodge for the kids to find. this just epitomizes how the lodge was. Every extra was there. bath towels, slippers, etc. the lodge is spotless and the hot tub was too. instructions were clear and easy to follow to keep the tub clean. Sorry, this took too long, life catches up with you but looking through old photos made me think. would I go back? Oh yes. Plus if you go you have to visit the station, its amazing.
We stayed for a week in October at Woodstock Lodge and found it to be the perfect base for a holiday The lodge was spotlessly clean, warm, and exceptionally comfortable with lots of added extras that really made the holiday feel very special. We have booked to come again next year.
What an amazing Lodge. 5 Star everything you could wish for and more. Those extra thoughtful touches are amazing. Home from home and more. Hot tub is amazing. Great views spotlessly clean. Great base to discover the area. Thanks John and Paul for a great holiday.
From the minute we arrived at this fabulous lodge, it was idyllic. John was so welcoming and showed us everything we needed to know. The lodge was immaculate, and had everything we needed and more, from all the games, dvds, toys, cosmetics, the welcome pack of necessary milk, bread and butter etc, not forgetting the beautiful cakes and scones, to the super comfy beds and sitting area. We wanted for nothing. The view is spectacular and the hot tub just put the icing on the cake. Absolutely 5star accommodation. Oh and thank you for the wine
We have just returned from a new year break at this lodge. Halfway through our week long stay four of us contracted folliculitis from high levels of bacteria in the hot tub. We were so sick that we had to cut short our holiday by a day and return home to seek medical advice. We all have painful itchy rashes, fever, sore throats and headaches and have been on antibiotics for the last week ! Obviously we immediately reported this to the owner's John and Paul who then escalated our complaint up to Sykes cottages the holiday company. To date neither are willing to take responsibility for our sickness despite sending them confirmation from our GP and photographs detailing our suffering. Our 9 year old has been covered in painful weepy spots for over 10 days now and was so sick he was unable to enjoy his birthday whilst we were there. Our children were unable to return to school and my husband was unable to return to work due to this. We have asked repeatedly for a refund of our holiday but this has been refused and no one is taking responsibility. The owner's and Sykes have a duty of care to their customers along with public liability to ensure the holidays they sell meet health and safety standards which this has not. We have given both the owner's and Sykes the opportunity to refund our ruined holiday but both have refused so we will be taking legal action against them. Do NOT book this lodge or with Sykes cottages as they do not care about their customer well being or safety.
Woodstock Lodge is a stunning place to stay and for both of us is one of the best places we have stayed in our lifetime. It felt like home and the attention to detail that John and Paul have put in is so thoughtful. The location in Wemyss Bay is perfect with a stunning views where you can see beautiful sunsets and the Ferry Crossing over at different time's.It is a place that we will visit many times again and again.
Well I think my title says it all. I cannot believe something this beautiful actually exists. John and Paul you have created the most stunning lodge and if the lodge itself wasn't just fantastic the extra touches are totally unexpected. From the slippers to the hair wraps for the hot tub and the jelly beans and home made cakes an scones. You are both perfect hosts and it really shows that you want to make people happy and comfortable. The view is stunning perfect sitting on the decking watching the sunset. The entertainment area is a short walk up the steps in-between the other lodges. And not a long walk to the main street either. If you are looking for that relaxing time away then this is definitely for you. I can promise you will not be disappointed. Well done John and Paul you should both be very proud at what you have achieved in this beautiful lodge. Thank you for having us.
Stayed at Woodstock Lodge for the weekend & loved it!! Situated just a short stroll from Wemyss Bay in a very quiet private corner of the park. The Lodge is very well equipped with everything you could need. We struggled to think of anything the hosts had missed!! Plenty glassware, crockery & utensils. Very comfortable lounge, dining table for 6, 3 bedrooms (master en suite), spacious deck with outdoor table to enjoy the spectacular views. Full size fridge freezer for keeping drinks cold, dishwasher, microwave, washer dryer .......... it’s all there!! The hot tub is an added luxury & what better way to chill out than with a glass of bubbles in the bubbles!!! Local butcher does a great selection of cheeses & wines & a mean breakfast in the attached bistro Looking forward to going back for another visit.
Just back form a weeks stay in this stunning, exceptionally presented very spacious lodge.John and Paul the owners have honestly thought of everything you will need to make this a special place to stay, from the very generous contents of the welcome pack including a bottle of wine, home baking, sweets for the kids, DVD’s, a well stocked toy box for indoor and outdoor use ,Sky tv in every room, WIFI , the provision of robes , slippers and towels for use of the hot tub, beds made up for arrival and with the washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher , fridge freezer and every piece of cooking appliance needed this truly is a home from home. From it’s elevated prime position it offers spectacular views from the seated sun deck area over to the island of bute and beyond. The lodge itself is set in a quiet secluded area of the park which offers you the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing break yet at the same time is still close enough to the main entertainment area of the park that we could walk up here with the 4 kids. We’ve stayed in 5 star hotels that haven’t catered for us as well as the hospitality and attention to detail provided here by John and Paul , we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend Woodstock Lodge highly enough to anyone looking for a place to stay in this area.
We have stayed at Woodstock Lodge twice this year and any notion of old style holiday park cliches soon disappears upon arrival. This large and spacious holiday lodge is beautifully appointed throughout with every home comfort you could need for a relaxing stay. In a slightly elevated position, on the edge of woodland, there are stunning views across The Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Bute and a variety of rural and coastal walks on the doorstep. Add in the large verandah and private hot tub, and all you need is some favourite champagne or prosecco to relax in style.
Just returned from a 3 night stay at Woodstock lodge, the lodge is immaculate and the owners have catered for every need. The lodge has Sky Tv, WiFi and a Tv/DVD player in every bedroom, there are board games, dvd’s and outdoor toys for kids, the dressing gowns and slippers in the bedrooms are a lovely touch. The hot tub is fantastic and the views from the deck are amazing. The lodge is tastefully decorated and has everything you would need for a luxurious stay, I would recommend this lodge for families or couples it’s a great place to relax and unwind, we will definitely be back.
Woodstock Lodge is furnished to the highest standards, and there is everything you could possibly need for a luxury stay - hot tub, dishwasher, wifi, Sky tv, washer/dryer, amazing views, outstanding deck, comfortable beds. Went with 5 friends, and we were all blown away by the accommodation. A five minute walk (or less) takes you to the ferry terminal for a lovely boat trip to the Isle of Bute. Wemyss Bay itself is quiet, but right at the waters' edge so you don't have to go far for amazing walks and views.
