The Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland Railway are located in Porthmadog, the entrance to the Snowdonia National Park, from which you can take a steam train through the breathtaking scenery of the park to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caerforn. Porthmadog is also home to many unique shops and eateries. A short drive or walk will take you to the charming village of Borth Y Gest, which is known for its cliffs and coves. Just along the coast is the renowned and distinctive Italianate village of Portmeirion. Miles of sandy beaches and wooded areas surround Portmeirion, which is famed for serving as the backdrop for the TV shows The Prisoner and Cold Feet's climactic episode. Portmeirion is located on a rocky clifftop on its own private peninsula. As well as magnificent undeveloped beaches like Black Rock Sands, where the sands extend as far as the eye can see, the region is home to castles at Criccieth and Harlech. There are activities for the whole family at the well-known Zip World Slate Caves and Bounce Below, which is also close by. These activities include the exhilarating zip wires and subterranean caverns to explore. a prime position for Snowdonia and The Lleyn Peninsula attractions.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Reviews

Not a very good experience, smelt of dog urine in kitchen, damp throughout, smelly and dirty. Signs everywhere (definitely not needed) Needs a good revamp, we reluctantly stayed one night because of the journey. I'm amazed at some of the good reviews on other sites, I think those reviews might be from friends or family. Owner reimbursed us for the cleaning products we had to buy to stay the night. We got a refund via bank for the booking but I want to share some of the photos of our experience to warn others.
