Reviews

The humble outside of the cottage hides a luxurious home from home. We stayed for a week and used it as a base for local walks/trips and visiting places further afield for which it is well situated. The cottage itself is well appointed with extremely comfortable beds, 2 bathrooms (one of which has a rain shower as opposed to a bath), a superbly fitted kitchen/dining room, and a large living room with a wood burner and a Smart TV. Fast wireless internet works well throughout the cottage. Lots of board games are provided in the living room for your entertainment which is a great idea. Outside, there is a Hot Tub, Chimera, and Gas BBQ. We didn't use the Chimera and BBQ due to the weather during our visit but the Hot Tub was superb. On a practical note, there is also a rotary drying line outside that can be used to dry clothes washed in the very useful washing machine in the kitchen. This is a lovely place to stay and highly recommend it.

Stayed at the Stables for a long weekend in August 2020 for my mums 70th Birthday. What a lovely little cottage it was. Bigger then expected lovely cottage kitchen with all the mod-Coms for cooking And some bits like eggs butter milk (Prosecco) as a starter pack when you first arrive Which was a nice touch! Lounge was comfy with a cosy log burner and a gorgeous hot tub and back garden with a log burner outside and bbq (unfortunately didn't use as it rained) but hot tub was brilliant! Beds where comfy and bathrooms where decent! Very clean and Melanie made it easy to find and communicate through text before and after stay. Nice little walk behind the stables to the local pub. Would advise to go to chill and relax romantic weekend! Place to lock bikes and also got to clean my bike before leaving using the farms hose :) Would defo stay again Thank you for being so accommodating Regards Steph

Visited the Stables with my wife and daughter and upon opening the door to leaving the cottage everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations as the cottage is far bigger than the photos show really doesn't do it justice. Everything in the cottage is of a really high standard best we have stayed in, we had a perfect sleep each night in the huge beds and hot tub at the back was used every evening to relax and a perfect end to each day. The area itself is beautiful and a great base for lots of walks high/low force in particular is fantastic stunning waterfalls, all in all it was so relaxed and was really nice just to get away from it all. Onto Melanie and Andrew they were great hosts and the welcome pack really was a lovely gesture and just what you need to start you off. We wish you all the success with the stables I am sure it will be a success we will be back for sure.

This was our first holiday with our 3 month old and The Stables was perfect for our needs, giving us a home from home. The cottage is located on a working farm and was a lovely base from which to explore the surrounding area; it also allowed us to have visits from family members from Newcastle and Cumbria. Although the weather was mixed, we still enjoyed the beautiful views, walks and attractions. The cottage was spotless and the facilities were outstanding (looked just like the photos)- we had everything we needed and more. The welcome pack was a pleasant surprise and contained some extra special touches that made for a great welcome. Andrew and Melanie were great hosts- they left us to our own devices but were on hand to deal with any questions/queries that we had. Fantastic value for money!

Beautiful cottage with all the facilities available. Very highly finished. Ideal for walks, places to see, beautiful scenery. Rear of the property is a sun trap. Hot tub was fantastic, very big. All to excellent taste. We thoroughly enjoyed our week, lucky with the sunny weather. Welcome pack very much appreciated. Melanie and Andrew made us feel very welcome and we will be booking again. Thank you
