The cosy bedroom is ideal for a couple, the zip/link king size bed bed can also be converted to a twin bedded room by prior request. The property is a ground floor apartment so it shares the secluded enclosed garden space, which includes a relaxing patio space and a cosy table for two. The location of the apartment is ideal for those who want to keep the use of their car to a minimum. A few minutes’ walk takes you to Grasmere, one of the most popular destinations in the Lake District, with shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. Sample some world famous Grasmere gingerbread, or perhaps visit the burial site of William Wordsworth or indeed Dove Cottage, the writer’s home for a number of years. Further afield, Windermere is barely half an hour’s drive adjacent to the world-famous lake, offering all the energetic countryside activities you could desire, or perhaps take a more relaxed approach with a trip on the lake itself. Ideally positioned to keep travelling to a minimum, Stonegarth Cottage offers a perfect spot for a couple’s getaway to the Lake District.

Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland Wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
