One of best sites going great showers great site brilliant owners still here will be until Sunday so if you want a really smart break book little acre . PS I never have rated any site because you can always find something wrong I’ll be back .
Newly built and well furnished, comfortable cottage in a convenient location for visiting the coast, York and Leeds. Excellent owners on adjacent property who were helpful without being intrusive. Delightful welcome pack for Christmas booking.
Had a fantastic week at Little Acres. The cottage is amazing and in a superb location. Very nice owners, looking forward to coming back again !
I stayed for a week in April 2021 with my daughters and was so impressed. It is finished to luxury hotel standards, fantastically equipped and the super king bed is sooooo comfortable. Anna and Adam are fantastic hosts who can't do enough for you. I was impressed I've already booked again for October and can't wait to go back.
Little acres was perfect for our stay. Immaculate and felt home from home, everything we needed was there. Our retriever loved the garden and he even found a new play pal, Claude next door! Thank you for our stay and lovely welcome pack!
We stayed here for 4 nights in May and enjoyed every min. The cottage is absolutely spotless, with everything you need. The beds were so comfortable!! Garden was lovely and secure which was perfect for our little puppy. The area is so peaceful. We drove into York a couple of times and Harrogate is not too far away. The owners were very friendly and live next door if you need anything. We sat outside the castle inn pub and had lunch which was delicious, it’s only down the road from the cottage. We would definitely recommend and will be visiting again!
We had a great 4 night stay at Little Acres and loved every minute. The cottage is done out lovely, the kitchen had everything you could need and allowed to us to cook on one of the evenings. We enjoyed sitting out in the private garden and have a morning cup of tea or a gin! Bed very comfortable and the hosts were most welcoming and accommodated any requests. Cawood is just down the road and we visited the Castle Inn which was a great pub with delicious food. Nearby York was an enjoyable day trip. We hope to go back one day!
We are just back from a week spent in this delightful cottage with our dog and baby. It's very modern and comfortable. It's in a great location for visiting York, Harrogate, the Yorkshire wildlife park etc. We spent the last few days of our break in lockdown however it didnt affect our stay as there are so many great local walks to explore and it was lovely to come back to the cottage and relax in front of the log burner. The garden is fully enclosed and was great for our dog. The owners left a lovely welcome pack and were there for us if we needed any assistance. Would definitely recommend this cottage for a relaxing break away!
Great relaxing stay at Little Acres for me,my wife & Jasper(Border collie)Very comfortable Hi tech cottage.Brilliant for walking in quiet countryside & close to quiet little village.Very close to York and all the amenities.Owners Adam & Anna were fantastic & only live next door,so if any help needed are close at hand.Would definitely stay again.
We had a great time with your two year old at Little Acres. It was the perfect base to explore local attractions like the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Yorkshire Wildlife Park and Fountains Abbey, not to mention York and Harrogate. The property was like new, really well kitted out and had a great secure garden to run around in. Would definitely recommend!
Stayed at Little Acres for a week, came home relaxed and refreshed. Cottage decorated and equipped to a high standard. Hosts very freindly, thank you for the welcome pack. The cottage is situated in an ideal position to explore York and the surrounding coastline. Our dog loved snoozing in front of the log burner and then running outside in the enclosed garden. Would happily recommend this as a place to stay.
Great cottage very modern and cosy within driving distance of York, Scarborough, Whitby, Selby and Robin Hood Bay. Surrounded by beautiful countryside with lots of walks and nice and flat for cycling. Anna and Adam are lovely hosts, well worth a visit.
Myself.husband and son have just spent the loveliest week in Little Acres cottage. The cottage was so homely and so peaceful. It's a great base to explore and was ideal for us as it was so close to York with all its tourist attractions (we went to Yorvik Viking centre and York Minister and on the Riverside cruise). The castle Inn pub in cawood was lovely; we visited it twice. The grangeside nursery in cawood was also lovely and we had a great lunch there. Can't recommend this cottage highly enough. The hosts were so friendly and helpful too thankyou, would love to return!!
Great little cottage just outside of York. It has modern features, a nice log burner, great surroundings and its an easy, one road drive to York. We stayed for a few nights with our 1 year old and it was a very relaxing break. Good base for York, Harrogate, Leeds etc but there's also plenty to do locally if your into walking and small village life. My only suggestion would be a nice big clock on the wall would be all the cottage needs, as it's easy to lose track of track of time when your relaxing and away from the busyness of everyday life. Would definitely stay again! Thanks
The title says it all, Little Acres is a real credit to the owners Anna & Adam. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm and wecoming cottage, fantastically appointed throughout. There was even a small hamper left for us, of wine, cake, chocolates and of course dog bisuits for a our four legged guest. A very thoughful gesture indeed and really kicked of our weekend break the right way. The cottage itself is lovely, kitchen is very well equipped, beds are super comfortable, showers and bath are fantastic and there is a large enclosed garden with a patio to relax in. Being winter, for us what was perfect, was coming home after a day in the cold and relaxing infront of the log burner. Safe to say, our dog abolsutely loved it with her bed right infront of the fire. The cottage itself is surrounded by countryside which makes for really quiet moonlit evenings, amazing sunrises and some beautiful scenery to amble around in. Location is fantastic, York being only 25 minutes away at most (perfect for the Christmas Markets), and is surrounded by small quaint villages and not forgetting some fantastic walks which were welcomely rcommened to us. Bishop wood being one we got lost in for hours! Perfect! There are lots of recommendations of places to eat and visit in the welcome book, well worth a look through if you haven't already planned your days there. Hosts are fantastic and really friendly, even went the extra mile to arrange flowers and prosseco on arrival for my partners birthday. Really couldn't do enough for us, but happily left us to our own devices. Honestly, if you are thinking about staying in this area, please give Little Acres some thought, you will not be disappointed at all!!
Little acres is a stunning place to stay. Beautiful inside and scenary outside. Cottage was amazing everything you need in there. Log burner came in handy after a cold day in york. We will be returning. The owners were lovely and was there if you needed anything.
Fabulous cottage with a definate wow factor. Warm and cosy with everything at hand to make our stay perfect. Would definitely recommend this cottage.
Just stayed for a week at Little Acres, fantastic accommodation very clean all the mod cons you could wish for and a lovely welcome pack. Will definitely book again. Thank you Adam and Anna for making our holiday perfect.
After a long exhausting flight from Sydney this little cottage plucked from the internet was a sight for sore and tired eyes. It has absolutely everything you could need and more. We were greeted by Adam and inside was a welcome basket of wines, cakes plus milk and flowers. This cottage is so comfortable that you could easily stay a month or more. Beds were best so far in UK, Wi-Fi was quick, kitchen so well set up cooking was a breeze. Showers were very high tech with fab pressure and plenty of hot water. The Castle recommended by Adam was a beautiful pub with great food, beers and staff. We can't recommend this cottage highly enough!
Lovely, well equipped 2 bedroom cottage with a large garden, 2 bathrooms and a state of the art kitchen. Lovely welcome of bottles of wine and milk from hosts, Adam and Anna. Great location for exploring York and surrounding areas with sites such as Castle Howard and its Arboretum and Malton. Cawood also has three excellent pubs which are well worth visiting.
This homely cottage, with a modern contemporary interior, features great technology. Top spec showers, music system and cooking appliances make for easy living. There are comfy king sized beds in both bedrooms, if you prefer a twin room one of the beds is a zip link and can be split. The garden is ideal for dogs, it is fenced and a good size. There is a patio set for alfresco dining and at night, it is ideal for star gazing as there is no light pollution, heaven, literally! The cottage and location feel particularly secure, plenty of space for parking. The location is close to amenities in the nearby village of Cawood although we didn't have enough time to frequent the local public houses they are within walking distance down a lane or two. If York, Selby, Leeds, Harrogate, the Dales or Moors or the coast take your fancy they are great for days out. Fancy days in? The cottage is peaceful enough for relaxation, reading, painting or catching up on your favourite programmes. I would recommend the cottage for a summer or winter break, the log burner is so inviting and the summer evenings with stunning sunsets and stargazing are hard to beat. The owners, Anna and Adam, were attentive and prompt with all communications. They will no doubt exceed guest expectations and enjoy welcoming future guests. Little Acres is an absolute gem.
I would 100% recommend 'little acres'. This was an amazing place to stay. The owners Anna and Adam have put so much time and effort into making the cottage a perfect place to stop. One of the best English holidays we have ever had :). I stopped for one week w/c 27th July with my husband, parents and dog (Bertie) and really wished we had booked two weeks as it was so nice. On the Saturday we arrived we was greeted with a welcome basket including milk, wine, chocolate and even biscuits for the dog. The cottage is fitted with all mod cons and all done to a very high standard. The location is perfect for exploring York and the surrounding area. There are no negatives I really can not fault 'little acres'. It really was perfect.
We stayed here for a week and had a great time. The cottage is really well equipped with everything you need for a holiday near York. Anna and Adam keep it spotless and make you very welcome. Safe garden for the kids and when Jamie brought out his football Adam arrived with a football net that has been well used. Thomas has had fun looking for grasshoppers in the garden and watching Claud run about next door. All in all we are chuffed to bits that we picked here to stay...
The cottage is very impressive, it is very comfortable and finished to a very high specification. The owners Adam and Anna include a lot of little things to get your holiday started. We appreciated the tea, milk, cakes, sweets and wine and the vase of flowers. It is extremely well equipped, we even found hot water bottles supplied if you are unlucky to get cold weather, although the cottage is centrally heated and has a wood burning stove. There is a nice garden area, and it was nice to sit outside on the patio. The cottage is well situated, very easy access to York. We travelled to Harrogate in about 45 mins, we also travelled to some of the surrounding villages which were lovely. If you're a fan of Bangers and Cash TV car auctions, it is situated near Pickering and is about an hours drive. We stopped and had lunch at Maltby on the way. Cawood is charming, excellent food served at The Castle Inn. Anna and Adam are perfect hosts, very helpful if you need them and keep their distance if you don't.
The location was ideal for getting into York and a good central point to venture further afield, Whitby was over an hours drive away but well worth the visit and Selby Cathedral which is very local was a eyeopener. The cottage was light, airy, clean and very cosy which we needed as when we stayed at the beginning of June the weather was awful, but that did not take away how much we enjoyed our stay and we hope to return in the future this time hopefully with some drier weather. Anna and Adam- the owners could not do enough to make our stay welcome. I would highly recommend a stay in this cottage.
Lovely, peaceful cottage in beautiful location with a fully enclosed dog friendly garden. The owners are lovely people and Adam was very helpful on places to go even personally walking with us to the Castle Inn so we knew where it was. This break was perfect in every way and we will definitely be back.
The cottage was really comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Not far from York. The village had great pub called the castle which served excellent food . Would like to stay again and take the dogs next time.
Well situated for easy access to York and Selby - there is a regular bus service if you want to leave the car behind for a day. The cottage itself has been fitted out with quality equipment - eg digital control showers, NEFF induction hob, bluetooth speaker, SMART TV etc - what a change from some of the places we have stayed at. And most importantly, a spacious secure garden for our dog to roam around in. Well done to Anna and Adam.
The property itself was top quality, the owners have put alot of time and effort to make it such a nice place to stay. The quiet location and quick access to York & other locals spots was ideal. Spoke to the owners briefly and they very nice people too. Me, my wife and little son would definitely stay again if we were in that area again and would recommend staying there to anyone else
We really enjoyed our stay at Little Acres, a luxury house in a rural location with easy access to York and the motorway network. The house is equipped to the highest specification and is very comfortable. Anna and Adam, the owners, have created a holiday house that provides everything their guests need. We loved the well equipped kitchen with high quality appliances, oven and induction hob and the luxury en-suite and bathroom. We also enjoyed the house's open aspect looking across fields and country lanes. The nearby village has a pub that serves great food and a network of lovely footpaths that are easily accessed from the house. We will certainly visit again.
This cottage is one of those rare properties that has everything. Peace and quiet and everything handy if you need it. Half a mile to the village with pubs and a local shop, a short drive to Selby for more shops and countryside walks from the door. Our dog loved it. The garden is secure for dogs to roam freely giving you peace of mind. York is only a short drive away and the park and ride at Fulford even nearer. £3.20 return to York and kids and dogs go free. The cottage has a wonderful log burner and all modern appliances. Even a digitised shower and underfloor heating in the bathroom areas. Adam and Anna, the owners, met us when we arrived and advised that we should just let them know if we needed anything and they kept their distance, but we were safe in the knowledge they were on hand if needed. Exactly what you need when on holiday. They also provided a welcome pack of wine, milk, chocolates and dog biscuits, etc which was a lovely touch. There isn't a sound at night and the skies were clear when we were there so lovely starry nights and 10 hour sleeps in the very comfortable beds. Facilities like wifi, washing machine, dish washer, etc all made for a great stay. One great thing was we saw a barn owl most mornings perched on the fence in the garden. Amazing. I really can't say anything negative about the place at all. Definitely recommend it.
What a gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was spotlessly clean and definitely had the wow factor. Beautifully decorated with quality furnishings. Lovely touches like fresh flowers and a welcome gift of milk, wine and biscuits. Little jars with chocolates and one with dog biscuits were a thoughtful touch. Lovely enclosed garden which was great for the dog... Or if you had children. Conveniently located for York and Leeds. Anna and Adam who owned the cottage were welcoming but not intruding. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommended this to anyone.
