Property was very beautiful. Proprietors friendly and helpful. Our experience crashed on last day when we saw the disgusting duvets and bed protectors we had been lying on (stripped bedding as requested on day of departure). Wine stains, tea or urine stains, body fluids absolutely disgusting. Whoever makes up the beds had to have known the state they were in and saw fit to make the beds up. No excuses. Also need to provide the practicalities such as somewhere to hang wet washing.
Twisted Chimneys is by far the most unique and characterful property I have ever stayed in. We had a brilliant week here with the owners ensuring we had everything we needed and more. The property is situated next to the Malvern Link platform which adds to its quirkiness. It's great to watch the occasional train pass whilst sat in the hot tub on the terrace, which becomes the perfect afternoon sun trap! The way the property has been renovated shows the amount of passion and thought that the owners have put into it. The location is also great, you can easily hike into the Malvern Hills or head into the high street or one of the pubs in the surrounding areas. I really cannot recommend this property enough, especially if you plan to stay in the pretty area of Malvern. We also spoke to the owners of the property who even shared some of the renovation photos of the property and it was unbelievable to see the transformation. We really hope to return again soon.
We’ve just returned from a very enjoyable weekend at Twisted Chimneys and would like to share my thoughts. There were four of us (two couples) spending a much looked forward to long weekend together. Our initial responses were simply ‘wow’! The photos in the online ads do not do the place justice. The whole house is decorated beautifully with attention to detail on everything. The light fittings are simply gorgeous, the rain showers fabulous, curtains and carpets are opulent, and the high range kitchen appliances are great. The beds are singles which we chose to be zipped and locked to become super-king and were exceptionally comfortable. I don’t like a hard mattress and therefore found these to be perfectly soft and to my liking! The hot tub is a wonderful feature which we made use of every afternoon when we were unfortunate to experience poorer weather! The regular trains never ceased to stop entertain us! In response to a previous rather surprisingly negative review of this house, I’d like to say it’s like we had stayed in different places! We cannot really comment on the comfort of the sofas as we were enjoying ourselves, and didn’t go there to slob out in the sitting room. We did sit in there for short periods, and no one commented that they were uncomfortable. We didn’t feel the kitchen was dark and poorly equipped, but we didn’t cook and we used the dishwasher. We also took our own tea towels in case one wasn’t supplied, but didn’t really use it. The decorative details in the place (posters vs mirrors) was, in our opinion, perfect. We didn’t notice the place to be dark in any way, but obviously if it was, the abundance of mirrors would be of help to brighten things up. But as I say, it wasn’t really needed. The only point I agree on from the above mentioned review is the lack of facilities to dry swimwear and towels. A pop up airer in each bedroom might be an option, or maybe a washer / dryer may help. Also, we chose to use spare towels to walk on from the back door to the loo to prevent flooding, so a mop of some kind would have been useful. The projector TV outside wasn’t working for us either, but as we were there as a group we didn’t need nor miss it. We didn’t hook up our phones to the hot-tub either for music, as we were mindful of an adjoining property’s bedroom window directly overlooking the tub. I hope we didn’t disturb the occupants too much! All in all we all four loved our stay at Twisted Chimneys and consider it a perfect base for exploring the area. I’d definitely recommend it.
The description of the accommodation did not fully do the cottage justice! The Station House is a solid impressive building positioned adjacent to Malvern Links railway station. It has been sympathetically restored and furnished by Leo and Chloe to a 5Star+standard. All of the furnishings and fittings are of the highest level/quality. for example in the kitchen the appliances are NEF. Beds are large and very comfortable. The two ensuite shower rooms are wet rooms with constant hot and powerful showers. There are TVs in all the rooms and Netfllx is available Outside there is a comfy sitting area looking on to the railway. The large hot tub was top of the range with lights and music access. But what was even more impressive than the facilities was the owner Lee who did everything possible to make our stay as memorable and comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble for him and what was very reassuring was the way he came every day to check the quality of the water in the hot tub. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and there was plenty of cleaning materials available in the property. Check in has been delayed to 5pm to ensure a deep through clean between visitors. We will certainly be returning in the future.
Just come back from a relaxing, luxurious weekend at Twisted Chimneys, The Station House, Malvern Link. We cannot fault the hosts, the facilities or the location, the pictures do not do it justice! Great detail, care, thought and attention to detail gone into the renovation by the owners and hosts. We cannot thank Lee and Chloe enough, going the extra mile for my husbands 55th birthday a weekend we will treasure.
Stayed here for 5 days for my hubby's birthday. The cottage is even better than the pics, from the moment we entered the door it took my breath away. A lot of thought and love has gone into it it's pure luxury. The owner Lee was so helpful and had arranged for me for balloons etc to be there when we got there. We spent a lot of time in the wonderful hot tub waving to the people on the train making it even more memorable. If you want a beautiful place to stay in that you will never forget this is the place. ❤
