Accommodation Details

One king-size double bedroom. Fitted kitchen, pretty sitting room with large inglenook, wood burning stove, window seat, and dining area. Ground floor bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC.

A mile from Bridestowe, on a quiet country lane, surrounded by a charming smallholding with friendly ducks and chickens, is Little Week Cottage. This lovely cottage has been carefully created from an original thick-walled ancient home, attached to one end of the owners house, to become an archetypal Devon cottage with wonderfully knobbly walls, beams on the ceiling and a wood burning stove. You enter through the front door, past the groundfloor bathroom and utility room to the neatly fitted kitchen, through to a pretty sitting room with a large inglenook and window seat. On the first floor is a good-sized double bedroom, smart and stylish with original low windows, this is a stylish end of day retreat. Outside, you have your own enclosed garden with long countryside views to DartmoorÂ’s highest points, patio and table and chairs. On the edge of Dartmoor, there is beautiful moorland to walk and explore with opportunities to walk and cycle, and with a pub in Bridestowe village and lively towns at Tavistock and Okehampton there are plenty of eateries and shops to browse. National Trust Lydford Gorge is a stunning place to visit. A super, romantic bolt hole, Little Week Cottage is perfect for exploring DartmoorÂ’s wild fringes or further afield

Nestling among mature woodland on the western slopes of Dartmoor, the historic village of Lydford is a jewel in this area of outstanding scenic beauty. To the north, just half a mile away, the high tors come right down to the village edge, while to the south the River Lyd winds its way through Lydford Forest on its tumbling course northwards.

Reviews

We are currently staying at little week cottage and can honestly say it is fabulous. The hosts are next door and are so lovely and helpful ( lemon drizzle cake was lovely ) . The cottage is small and perfect. Well looked after and maintained , comfortable and modern with period features. The walks and countryside nearby are exceptional. We are here with our two large dogs and the the cottage and garden are great for us . The cottage is exceptionally clean and the information pack is really helpful . This cottage was recommended by a friend and we will definitely be back and recommend . Thank you
