Location Details

Shaldon is a pretty Regency village on the opposite bank to the historic, seaside town of Teignmouth in South Devon. It's on the mouth of the Teign estuary and boasts pubs, shops, tea rooms, and a small zoo.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Reviews

The riverside views and village we were prepared for. But the owners have really pushed the boat out with the high standard of accommodation. 5-star hotel fixtures and fittings and everything supplied you could possibly need and more.

This is one of those places that take your breath away, the view is to die for property overlooks the river and beach, you could watch the view all day and never grow tired.House is to a very high standard and we are determined to stay again, only word seems to have got out and it is booked up a lot of the time

The info about this apartment does not do it justice as all the photos are a bit dark. It is a light and airy superbly equipped house. The famous 5 bit was picking mussels from the beach to cook, rock pooling and tunnels to the beach. It is a brilliant base to access other parts of Devon being on the main routes but also good bus, ferry and train links. The village has everything you need - and more. We had some meals at the house, luckily I took my slow cooker because there is a shortage of large pans but it didn't deter us. We ate locally and had good food too - not too pricey. My older parents (blue badge) did find it a bit of a chore not being able to park by the property but the rest of us did not mind the walk (10 mins) up to the Ness car park. It only cost £3:40 to park for 24 hours. It was easy to unload and reload the car outside the house too. The roads are very tight but it all adds to the quaint feel of the village. A real bonus for us was the WiFi access for GCSE revision. There were also some resident games and DVD's but we were out and about so much that we didn't get time to use them. Perfect family break. Only downside is Friday in/out day but we would like to go again - school holidays permitting.
