Polcreek Farmhouse is a splendid typically Cornish 17th cent. family house, in a tranquil setting at the end of a lane, 1¼ miles from Veryan. It is very private, only the occasional farmer herding sheep passes by. This is a wonderful place for a carefree large family gathering, or group of friends. The big living room has an open fire with the original slate and the equally big dining room has a sensible slate floor, through to the farmhouse-style kitchen with breakfast table and stools; there is also a ground floor WC and, ten paces from the kitchen door, a shower-room, ideal for sandy bodies. Head upstairs to the four bedrooms, a king-size double and three twin rooms, lovely views from up here, but mind that low lintel on the landing! Also, a family bathroom. A peaceful family-friendly place in a great position for enjoying the lovely coastline. There is a small front garden and ½ acre of mown grassy space with rustic table and chairs. Carne and Pendower beaches are a mile away (the two merge at low-tide to give a mile of sand). National Trust land surrounds the house to a mile radius. If you can drag yourself away nearby St.Mawes and Mevagissey are worth a visit, along with the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.
Loved Polcreek Farmhouse! It was just perfect than for our needs, a group of 7 adults and 2 dogs, space for everyone and a living room and dining room big enough to comfortably accommodate all of us at once. We particularly loved that this felt a very personal and homely experience, far removed from the average bland holiday home. Lovely grounds outside too, fairly short walk to the cliffs and beaches, and so, so quiet, no road noise of any sort. Please bear in mind there is only one bathroom (extra toilet downstairs, and shower and toilet outside for returning from the beach), but if en suite is essential for you, look elsewhere. For us, perfect, though, historic house full of fascination and wonderful nooks and crannies to explore inside and out. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
The farm house is old and very comfortable with lots of character . Very quiet in amazing country side. Very limited mobile signal
Just returned from staying at pole creek farmhouse in Veryan Cornwall the house is spacious and homely with plenty of space for the dogs ,of which six are allowed. Veryan is an ideal base to discover plenty of Cornwall nearby such as the fal river, tressilick gardens carne beach and nare head all of which we enjoyed whilst we were there. We had a lovely welcome of a homemade fruit loaf and fresh flowers.there was plenty of board games, puzzles and books left for guests to enjoy. Will definitely return
As the title suggests we loved the view to sea from the master bedroom. In the garden you could sit by the fence and hear just the sounds of nature (livestock grazing, swallows and house martins chirping). We had 3 dogs with us and the garden was great for them. Kitchen was well equipped, Wi-Fi had good speed and the rooms were all spacious. As were were here in the summer the stone floors were nice and cool. Do not be put off by outside shower as it is fine and adds a bit of character. There is an inside bath upstairs and two inside toilets (1 up, 1 down). Journey to farmhouse is down a track so if you have anyone that will feel pain going over bumpy terrain then this may not be for you but you can smooth the ride by careful driving but there is a big bump at the gate to watch out for. Rooms have old style electrics (50's ?) but there are other sockets in rooms that are upto date but you cannot plug your own kit in to sockets by your bed due to the old sockets. Carne beach is approx a mile away (look at that on the web or trip advisor to get a feel) but it is sandy and the water is clear and you can find crabs. Eden project is also in distance to get to visit.
