Internally the property enjoys a refreshing colour palette, carefully selected furnishings and original images that the owner has taken and displayed throughout the property as a quiet reminder of your wonderful surroundings. Upon entering the property, you are welcomed into a spacious sitting room, where plush sofas resting in front of a warming fireplace and a TV create a tranquil space to unwind after an action-packed afternoon. Joining the sitting area is the dining table, where you and your loved ones can look forward to planning the days ahead whilst tucking into a home-cooked meal that was prepared within the well-equipped kitchen. Step into the compact yet well-presented kitchen, where you will find all the essentials you will required to cater your own delicious evening meals, including a fridge/freezer and an electric oven and hob. As the evening draws to a close, choose between two well-presented double bedrooms, each boasting ample storage and space to house your personal belongings and views of your surroundings to admire each morning. To the outside of the property, look forward to soak up the sunshine within the large enclosed garden area, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink whilst your pets roam the lawn. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic spot, a short stroll will bring you to the local pub and restaurant, as well as a shop for picking up the essentials. Whilst here, spend some time at the local beach where younger guests will be delighted by the rock pools which house interesting wildlife, while keen golfers can spend hours at the Solway Links Golf Course which is also a great afternoon with the whole family. Brush up on the local history by discovering the 13th century Caerlaverock Castle or venture to the hill of Criffel for those feeling active. Mardan is a wonderful base for exploring the superb location.

We had beautiful weather and a lovely welcome from Kate and George, the cottage is a home from home, And we would recommend it to our family and friends, the west coast of Scotland is beautiful and been to many place and we would recommend going to Creetown gem museum as it’s great for kids As the food in the cafe is freshly made for you , also everyone in Southerness are very friendly and helpful.
