Rowan Cottage sleeps up to 6 adults plus one child under 2 in a cot. Rowan Cottage is the ideal holiday cottage for families, groups of up to 3 couples and is ideal for parties with a guest who would prefer to not go upstairs as the Master Bedroom suite is on the ground floor and is accessible from the front of the house and the rear. Rowan Cottage is the ultimate get-away. Located in the small hamlet of Tresean, between Cubert and Crantock and only a half a mile walk along a country lane from Cubert Common which leads to Polly Joke Beach. Rowan Cottage is a detached, beautifully presented, delightful period cottage. The accommodation is laid out over two floors and surrounded by a beautiful garden to the front, rear and side enclosed by Cornish stone wall and a five bar gate. Step into the property and on the ground floor and to your right, you'll find a well equipped kitchen and a cosy and comfortable sitting room. On your left is a dining room which overlooks the garden and leads on into the Master Bedroom with en-suite and comfy king sized bed. Upstairs in the property you'll find two further bedrooms and a bathroom. To the left (at the top) of the stairs you will find a bedroom with a cosy and comfortable double bed with shuttered windows overlooking the front garden. To the right of the stairs is another bedroom: This room can be laid out as a twin with single beds or as a super-king. Between the two bedrooms on the landing, is the second bathroom. Here there is a large walk in shower, wash basin and a WC. The property has an enclosed garden, the front garden faces South West, so benefits from the sun all day, and is laid to lawn with lots of planting and pretty flower beds. There is plenty of room in the garden so surf boards, bikes and beach paraphernalia can be stored. To the rear there is a decked courtyard garden which has direct access via french doors from both the Sitting Room and Master Bedroom. For Poldark fans the cottage is only minutes away from Holywell Bay and the iconic Gull Rocks as seen on BBCs Poldark TV series.

Crantock is a small Cornish village, set back from the coast, close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the North to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, as well as National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, plus attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.

Reviews

Rowan Cottage is a beautiful, very well appointed property, with a lovely garden situated down a quiet country lane. Yet it is only minutes from Newquay, and makes an excellent base from which to explore Cornwall. I would highly recommend staying there.

Excellent location, just a few minutes by car from Holywell Beach with its National Trust car park, surf board hire and cups of tea on the sands. C Bay in Crantock a longish walk but lovely for coffee and evening meal. Impressive fish and chips from Cubert, beware, huge portions! Cottage fantastically well equipped and spotless. Great garden, unusual for a holiday cottage, with several sitting out areas suitable for all times of day.

Rowan Cottage is ideally situated between Crantock and Cubert although it's much closer to Cubert in reality which has a shop, tea room, fish & chip shop as well a pub. Set down a lovely quiet country lane and a 10min walk from Cubert Common and 30min walk to Polly Joke beach. It's also possible to walk to glorious Holywell and Crantock beaches from the Cottage across NT land or take a 10min drive to both - the dogs loved them. The Cottage was beautifully presented, fully equipped and had everything we needed for a great week. With the weather being changeable it was great to come back to a lovely home. We particularly liked the furnishings, art work, high quality attention to detail and clean finish of the Cottage. Lots of places to visit and to eat nearby such as Smugglers Den Pub. Would thoroughly recommend Rowan Cottage. The only issue we had was a noisy cockerel in the nearby farm facing the front of the Cottage but this is the country and it's all part of the experience!

A delightful cottage tucked away in a hamlet and a comfortable stroll to Porth Joke. Very well appointed, comfortable and warm. Like being in your own home. Suitable for six but better for four adults.
