We stayed here as 9 adults and 2 children for a weekend in November. The accommodation was spacious and well-equipped with comfortable beds and good sized rooms. Although the property has four bathrooms, only two of them have showers so there was a bit of a rush to get ready and out, particularly on the last morning as checkout is at 10am. The living areas are spacious and there was enough room for us to all eat together and lounge in the evening together which was nice. There was a log fire available although we didn’t use it. The kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans and utensils and the dishwasher was easy to use, with dishwasher tablets provided. Our only niggles were that it was a little dark in the evening with no real ‘main’ lighting but instead a collection of floor and table lamps; it made playing games a little tricky. Also, the age of the house meant that the floorboards were very creaky and the doors noisy which was very quaint but not conducive with a good night’s sleep - for adults or children - when others were moving around. The accommodation came with a large selection of brochures and suggestions of places to visit nearby which was helpful. The owner was very welcoming and gave us a thorough run-through of the property on arrival. There were also details of a walk around the farm which we followed which was pleasant. We went for Sunday lunch in the local Star Inn which was lovely and we would definitely recommend and return to if we could. All in all, we had an enjoyable weekend and we would return and recommend it to others.
Location was fabulous; rural, quiet, on a working farm with friendly owners who were very helpful. The house was comfortable and warm. Hampshire is delightful; a hidden gem.
