Built in the mid-1700s, the property is full of character and charm with a slightly quirky and interesting layout. The ground floor comprises a spacious kitchen with a fireplace and lovely window seat, while the comfortable sitting room, with open ceiling, exposed beams and open fire, sits atop the property on the second floor. A small courtyard garden is ideal for an evening tipple or two, and a short walk takes guests into the centre of this interesting and lively old town. With the 18-hole Kirkbymoorside Golf Club 0.25 miles away, and the stunning countryside of the North York Moors, traditional seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough, and historic York all within easy reach, this is an ideal holiday base whatever the time of year.
Situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, the attractive market town of Kirkbymoorside is located between the towns of Helmsley and Pickering. Full of traditional Yorkshire character, this little town is the centre for the local farms and villages. There are numerous tea-rooms, pubs, restaurants and antique shops within the village, through for some truly local flavour visitors can enjoy the market which takes place every Wednesday. The surrounding scenery is spectacular and offers excellent walking and cycling opportunities, including those within the National Park. Close by are the picturesque villages of Hutton le Hole and Lastingham, the North York Moors Steam Railway, the City of York and the Yorkshire Coast â all within easy driving distance.
