We absolutely loved our stay at the Bellwether. We wanted somewhere to spend half term that was close to nice pubs and good walks, but also felt luxurious. The Bellwether gave us that and more. The shepherd’s hut itself is really spacious and bright. There were gorgeous touches, like we were left a basket of fresh eggs, homemade marmalade and marshmallows to roast on the fire. There is everything you could need- the kitchen is well equipped, and the bed is super comfy. The bathroom is spacious and modern. The hob heats up really quickly and was great for making breakfast. The outside space is beautiful- we loved sitting out and reading next to the chiminea. The animals are fab- we loved Otto, Aggie and George, and checked for them every morning to see what they were getting up to. Fiona was so accommodating and kind as a host. The hut is near to Helmsley where we had lovely meals, and enjoyed the local brewery. We also visited the farm shop at Beadlam, Pickering and Whitby. We joined English Heritage whilst staying and managed to visit Helmsley Castle, Pickering Castle, Whitby Abbey, Byland Abbey and Rievalux Abbey- totally worth it! We can’t wait to go back xx

A last minute get away to this little piece of serenity was exactly what the doctor ordered! There isn’t one thing that hasn’t been thought of - the hut is spotlessly clean, perfectly facilitated and the view is to die for in the sun, rain or snow all in which we got to see! The hut is warm and welcoming and the log burner adds an extra cosy feel! Fiona and family were always so welcoming and willing to help and the four legged family members always up for a bit of a cuddle! We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Bellwether to absolutely anyone and we can’t wait to be able to visit again!

We have just returned from a 3 Night break at Bellwether for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Where do you start. From the moment you drive up you realise you have landed in Paradise. The Shepherds Hut was spotless and we felt very confident about staying there in the current climate(Covid) The Hut is equipped to the highest of standards with everything you need to prepare a meal. The bed is soooo comfy it was hard to get out of it. The Shower is perfect and the towels so fluffy. Luckily we did not need the indoor fire but we will return in the Winter when hopefully we will need it. Outside you feel like its your personal piece of Countryside with the BBQ the Chimanea which we used every evening to toast Marshmallows and the outdoor Furniture and Umbrella. The views are stunning you could never tire of them. Its close to so many places to visit and also places to get food. Fiona is very welcoming anda great host. My Husband had a bad back when we arrived so he took the opportunity to book a Massage with her which he loved and would highly recommended. Lastly George and Aggie are little stars which made for a very entertaining time watching them, We cannot wait to return its a real Gem. Thankyou Fiona for having us.

What an amazing weekend, from start to finish couldn’t have been better, fantastic location, amazing hosts. Every detail thought of in the hut and facilities, from a lovely little welcome pack, cafetiere for your morning coffee through to a gas BBQ to make the most of the wonderful country side. The bed is very comfy and the fluffiest towels provided. Situated on the edge of a lovely little village with fab Indian Restaurant/Take away and Fish & Chips just a 5 minute walk away. We ordered a curry for Friday evening, collected it and enjoyed it sat outside as the sun went down. The coast is a very picturesque drive away so we made the most of it and spent a day in Whitby, calling at the farm shop next door to the Hut on the way back, to get a selection of their produce for an evening meal on the BBQ. The most relaxing break we have ever had. George the Sheep & Aggie the Goat are extremely welcoming and make great neighbours. We can’t wait to return
