Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
The property is by a nice beach and some lovely cafes. However, the property itself has a number of issues that need resolving. 1. Bed mattresses are in a terrible condition particularly the single mattresses. They are not fit to sleep in and need replacing. You can literally feel all the springs. The children in the party just about managed to sleep on them but they would be totally unsuitable for an adult to sleep in. When we arrived home after the holiday my child commented that they were glad they could now sleep in a comfortable bed. 2. The property is advertised for 12 people. However, the pull out bed in the living room is in a disgusting condition and hadn’t been cleaned in ages. It was full of sand and wasn’t very pleasant at all. I can’t believe they are advertising this as a bed suitable to sleep in. 3. Some items of broken furniture in the house. My niece slept in a bed that was broken at the bottom and the table football was wonky and potentially unsafe. 4. The bedroom my children slept in had black mould on the window which we had to clean on arrival. There was also a significant damp issue on one wall which resulted in the room smelling unpleasant all week. 5. Mould around the edge of the showers. My husband ended up going shopping for cleaning stuff and had to clean around the shower. The house is in desperate need of a deep clean! 6. Half of the hot tub filters don’t work. This is mentioned in reviews back in June and still has not been fixed. It also had a lot of sand at the bottom when we arrived and hadn’t been cleaned properly. This was probably due the fact that we arrived the cleaners children were in the hot tub!!!! We contacted Sykes about the issues and were told the property owners would be in contact but no-one responded back to us for weeks. We received no explanation for the issues and it is obvious that the property owner couldn’t care less! It is ridiculous that when you are paying so much money basic maintenance and cleaning isn’t done!!!
Stayed here with a family group of 6 for a week. We paid over £3,500 to stay here. On the plus side, the house is close to the beach - just a few minutes walk, in a great area with a great shop, good restaurants and bars nearby. Unfortunately the standard of accommodation was incommensurate with the price paid. Peeling paint in every room. Dust everywhere - on the blinds, skirting boards, ledges, under the sofas and rug. Broken window pane in one of the doors. Crumbs inside the kitchen cupboards, black debris in the oven. The house had not been properly cleaned. The hot tub was swimming with dirt and debris, and the filter had not been cleaned for some time. See photos. One of the sofas was broken but had been left in the property as a booby trap, and an older member of our party (who had recently had an operation) sat on it but fell through and hurt themselves. The other sofas were battered and dirty. Bathroom door was difficult to close. Downstairs shower room had no lock. Our bed was very uncomfortable with a cheap mattress and we ended up driving all the way back to Manchester for our mattress topper, in an effort to get some sleep here. When we complained to Sykes Cottages, they sent cleaners round just 15 minutes before the end of their shift was due to end, and they were unable to properly clean the property in the time allowed. What was most upsetting was that in further correspondence, Sykes Cottages suggested we had lied about hot tub filter, and accused us of fishing an old filter out of the bin! This was simply untrue - the hut tub was simply too dirty to use and the filter had not been cleaned for some time. It was caked with green algae, and we ended up cleaning it ourselves. We couldn’t use the hot tub until the very end of the holiday when the debris had finally cleared. High price paid for sub-standard, dirty, poorly preserved accommodation. I would strongly suggest avoiding this place and booking to stay elsewhere.
We have had a lovely week at Treaddhur View. The house is light and airy and thanks to the open plan kitchen, dining area and living room really sociable for the whole family to chat while people are cooking. The addition of the hot tub is brilliant and was used pretty much every night. The house was clean and well equipped and the decor is fab. The house is only a few minutes walk from the beach along an easy flat pavement. Our only diasppointment is that we tried to book for the same week next summer but the price has gone up by such a huge amount that we couldn't justify the extra when there are still similar houses in the area next year for this year's cost.
Just back from a week staying in this wonderful house. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds and plenty of room for a party of eight. The games and books in the conservatory are great if the weather isn't good and the hot tub is an added bonus (it was used every day). If you want a lovely, comfy holiday rental in a great location for the beach, shops and restaurants then this is it.
