Just a short drive from the pretty south Cornish coast, St Austell is one of the largest towns in Cornwall, home to a range of independent and well-known shops, an undercover shopping centre and a Local Produce Market, which takes place every Friday and Saturday. There is also a range of excellent restaurants, cafes and inns – from traditional country pubs to 2 AA rosette fine dining. Just outside St Austell is the iconic Eden Project, as well as the award-winning Lost Gardens of Heligan, Kidzworld, and the Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum. There are some beautiful beaches in this area, too – many with good kayaking conditions – and many miles of coastal footpath to explore. The mainly traffic-free Pentewan Cycle Trail runs from St Austell to Pentewan; here you can enjoy a bite to eat at the village pub or beach burger shack before making your return journey to St Austell. One of St Austell’s main events is the Torchlight Carnival which takes place each November – and of course, the World Pasty Championships, which are held at the Eden Project each March!
Little Pippin is within a short walking distance to Carlyon bay near St Austell. It’s a good location to get out and about around Cornwall. They have though of every little detail and thing you would need whilst staying in a self catering property. The family that run it are welcoming and friendly. We had such a relaxing time and hope to be back staying there soon. I highly recommend this place.
Little pippin was a really lovely place to stay especially after the last few months; there was everything you needed for your holiday and beautifully clean '; the owners were very pleasent and we felt very welcome; l am sure we will return as we loved the area we visited looe polperro and mevagissey which was lovely as the weather was quite hot;so a very enjoyable place to stay;
The first impression upon arrival was good. Then, small things started to appear and completely spoiled my stay at the end. First: very poor mobile reception in this are, I couldn't make a phone call from anywhere in apartments apart from the one sport near an entrance door. Second: wi-fi signal provided by accommodation was poor. If you are planning to have connection with outside world you can forget about it, wi-fi reception only close to an entrance door. Third: hardly any toilet paper, soap, dish washer machine liquid, or dish washer detergent in general, I had to buy my own, bearing in mind I rented accommodation for 5months solid. None of it been replaced or toped up. Fourth: the accommodation next to a railway track, constant noise from railway make my heading, it's like living next to a motorway. Firth: the shower cabin was constantly blocked and didn't drain water properly. Sixth: few time the landlord made an excuse not to clean the property or didn't clean it well enough, toilets in particular. Seventh: and the most frustrated one, the Landlord offered a discount if I book direct but he didn't do at the end. Very disappointed, wouldn't trust and wouldn't recommend.
Please book this cottage if you want perfection.Its perfect for a couple to stay in,clean,comfortable and classy. We own a home Interiors business and noted that all the furniture and accessories are of excellent quality and the owners have decorated each room superbly. The cottage is a 20 minute walk into Charlestown,which is the most beautiful harbour and blue sea you could want. The owners are very attentive but discreet,living next door.We could not find fault with anything in our week's stay there.
Just back from a glorious week in Cornwall staying at Little Pippin. I am a regular solo self catering holiday maker, and have stayed in some real doozies over the years..... from damp to dirty to ill equipped. But Little Pippin has restored my faith! Spotlessly clean inside, and designed and decorated for complete and utter comfort, there was nothing that I could fault. The property is located at the end of a private lane, and had a designated parking space right outside the front door. The open plan styling downstairs with patio doors onto the garden was perfect, and the kitchen was very well equipped and immaculate. The open plan gallery style bedroom was every girls dream ! Deep sumptuous carpet, gorgeous linens and light that floods in every morning with a dawn chorus from the many birds in the garden - and a stunning en-suite with the best shower I have ever used. As you can guess, I loved it and didn't want to come home. The location is perfect for Charlestown with it's tall ships and harbour, and Carylon Bay, which has a fabulous huge beach - even better, both places can be reached on foot via some lovely footpaths. The Eden Project is just up the road - not cheap but well worth a visit, but make sure to wear comfy shoes and be prepared for extreme humidity in the Rainforest Biome; The Lost Gardens of Heligan are stunning and also worth a visit, as is Lanhydrock. But the best bit was returning after a day out to the luxury of Little Pippin - a real diamond of a place. Oh, and have to mention Reggie the dog - a real cutey.
