All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin (zip/link can be super king-size on request) with en-suite Jack-and-Jill shower, basin and WC. Open-plan living room with kitchen, dining area and sitting area.

Nestled among rolling, green countryside with sheep grazing close by and lambs in the springtime, Red Kite Lodge rests peacefully on the outskirts of Bettws Cedewain. This is the ideal escape to the country for families and friends looking to tour a lovely part of Wales, a stone's throw from the English border with the Shropshire towns and villages within easy reach. Entrance is gained through the utility area, where you have space to kick off your shoes and hang up your coats, while the handy washer, tucked under a unit, comes in useful after a long, muddy walk through verdant countryside. Spend quality time with your loved ones in the open-plan living room and unwind into your evening by the woodburner, which keeps you toasty and warm during the winter season. You can rustle up a family feast in the kitchen and get together around the dining table before reclining in front of the TV as the evening draws in. Throw open the patio doors to the decking on a summer's day and absorb that peaceful, countryside atmosphere as a cool breeze fills the indoor space. With part of the enclosed decking having a glass balustrade, you can admire the countryside views right from the sitting area - the owners really have thought of everything! The king-size double offers a lovely, country feel with lots of attention to detail, bedside tables and lamps as well as a wall-mounted TV. You have Jack-and-Jill access to the family shower room, which also acts as an en-suite to the twin bedroom. This has zip/link beds, which can be made up into a super king-size double for couples, or left as a twin for those traveling with children or friends. Sit out on the decking one balmy afternoon and enjoy a refreshing beverage as you drink in the luscious, green scenery surrounding you with views towards the lakes in the distance. Alternatively, dip in the hot tub and ooze in a spot of luxury as a fine summer's evening draws out and you can make the most of this serene setting. There is plenty to see and do in terms of walking and cycling in the area, with clay pigeon shooting and quad biking opportunities also available. Head to the town of Montgomery, which offers a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with the ruins of its 13th-century castle, while Bishop's Castle, across the border, offers live music and festivals the year-round. Spend a day exploring Cardigan Bay exploring the wonderful beaches or drive up to the Snowdonia National Park for many outdoor activities including water sports, caving, climbing and bird watching. This is a fabulous retreat for your next break in Wales.

Newtown lies on the banks of the River Severn, in the heart of the beautiful Montgomeryshire countryside, and boasts a vibrant art gallery, museums and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Newtown is also home to Theatr Hafren, one of Wales’s premier theatres, which showcases a wide variety of entertainment, from comedy shows to opera, offering something for the whole family. Explore the ruins of the Norman Motte and Bailey castle in the beautiful old county town of Montgomery, wander the Grade I listed formal gardens at the renowned Gregynog Hall, or visit the world-famous Powis Castle and Gardens, often frequented by Prince Charles. The medieval market towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow offer renowned and award-winning restaurants, cosy pubs and quaint shops, as well as festivals and markets, including annual Christmas markets, whilst Ludlow also boasts over 600 listed buildings and Ludlow Castle, so there is something to enjoy all year round. In nearby Churchstoke, the Roundton Hill Nature Reserve and Iron Age Hill Fort is a haven for wildlife and home to a plethora of native British birds. On a clear day, the walk to the summit at 370 metres is rewarded by a 360 degree panorama, from where extensive views over Shropshire and the high Welsh peaks beyond can be seen. A little further afield, Machnynlleth is home to the Centre for Alternative Technology, and also Machnynlleth Golf Club. The delightful seaside village of Aberdovey on the stunning Cardigan Bay coastline is a paradise for watersports enthusiasts, while the sandy beach at Ynyslas is perfect for a family day out. All this and more is within as hour’s drive of Newtown, making this a wonderful year-round holiday destination.

We have just got from a great week from here. we stayed in the red kite lodge.x We arrived to a lovely homemade chocolate cake. Julie popped into us on the first night to make sure all was ok and to let us know if we needed anything she and kev were available to help. The lodge had everything you can think of to make it like home. Bread, milk ,tea and coffee was also left for us. kids had a great time looking for Katie the red kite which had a chocolate for them as a prize.x The animals added to the lodge as the kids had a great time waking up to them and feeding them carrots daily. Kev took the kids around the farm on his quad and explained to the kids about everything. He did this more than once. They provide a book which gives you all details on places to visit. , also places to eat. We were there for our 15th wedding anniversary ,so we tried dinner at the local which is about a 10 minute walk and we was not disappointed. We enjoyed it so much we already booked to go back before we had even left. Thank you for making our week a great memory. See you next year.x

Wow! What a fantastic week we have had! Julie and Kev are the perfect hosts and have gone above and beyond to make our holiday extra special, including a delicious chocolate cake, bread and milk, on arrival. Red Kite Lodge is so comfortable, a real home from home. It has everything you could need and has been beautifully designed. We have loved feeding Ed, Bob and Tom (the alpacas) everyday with digestive biscuits and carrots, playing archery and Kev’s trip to visit the horses was just amazing. A hidden gem, with so many wonderful places to visit in mid Wales, we can’t wait to return! Both the beaches and countryside are spectacular. The children have loved every minute of it, especially having their own private hot tub on the veranda, surrounded by spectacular views of the beautiful Welsh countryside. It has been, by far, the best UK holiday we have ever had. Many thanks to Julie and Kev for being such great hosts and for helping us to create happy holiday memories.

Had a wonderful stay. Log cabin has everything you need and is lovely inside, with undercover hot tub for cooler weather. Set in the countryside, makes an ideal timeout. Town only 15 min dive away, with lots places to eat and shop. Stunning beach an hour away. Highly recommend.

We have just come back from a lovely short break in Redkite Lodge! There has been so much thought and care put into this cosy little home from home. Every where you look there are special little touches...a fluffy blanket in the living room so you can cuddle up in front of the wood burner. Tea, Coffee and sugar in the kitchen...milk in the fridge...useful things like tin foil and paper towels. Not forgetting a HUGE chocolate cake that was begging to be eaten The beds are luxurious...the showers have plenty of hotwater...no shortage of fluffy towels! The hot tub is a treat....complete with views of the hills and a sky full of stars at night! Every morning there are a few friendly sheep waiting to say hello...a woodpecker too! I cant recommend Manor lodges highly enough! Julie and Kev you guys are amazing...thank you so much! Go...book yourself a break! Now!

Absolutely fabulous, high spec Lodge in an idyllic, peaceful setting. Hot tub with beautiful views. The lovely owners had a homemade cake waiting for us on arrival. Thank you Manor Farm Lodges for making our first visit to Wales, really memorable.

Hastily arranged let after our initial booking proved to be less than satisfactory. This a nearly new lodge (June 2019) built to a high standard and well spec’d. 2 beds, 2 showers, open plan living lovely decked veranda and hot tub under cover, which in our experience is very handy, you can still relax if it rains! Beautiful location, great views of the surrounding countryside, joined by the families small clan of sheep for breakfast on a couple of days! Just far enough off the beaten track to be tranquil but near enough to several places of interest. The owners couldn’t have been more friendly or hospitable whilst leaving you to your own devices. This is apparently a new venture, you wouldn’t know, great accommodation, great hosts, great value!
