Reviews

Cheeky little break away just out of lockdown and what a gorgeous place we stumbled upon. Firstly nothing was to much trouble for carol the host, we arrived at the property late afternoon and everything was ready for us, including wine and beer in the fridge, chocolates in the jar and a home made cake in the cake tin !! Carol got the kettle on as soon as we arrived. The cow cott has all you need for a great break away and in the middle of nowhere yet not so far away from such beautiful places, meant it was the perfect place for us. Rosie was a great hit with my partner and our puppy who took great joy in finding her each morning then running off barking because she was scared to death !! The open secure field was just brilliant for the dog to run around and carol and phill more than happy for her to be there with us, (even providing her with treats on arrival). It was just what we needed after a hard year ! Relaxing peaceful, charming stress free. With such lovely hosts xx

My partner conducted much research into accommodation for our recent staycation in Hereford. Arriving at the Cow Cott, it did not disappoint! It is a scenic, secluded location but within walking distance of several picturesque villages, many with a pub worth visiting. An excellent base from which to explore the Hay-on-Wye area. We could not have been made more welcome by Carol, Phillip, Teddy the Airedale and Rosie the donkey. It has been lovingly restored and thoughtfully equipped. We hope to be back!

If only the weather was as warm as the greeting - we were welcomed by the owner who provided a lovely home made fruit cake and had the kettle on too. The Cow Cott opened in August. You arrive after driving along winding single track roads. The accommodation is very well finished with beams, new shower room, compact kitchen and sleeping area. There is WiFi and the bed is very comfortable. This is remote and there are lots of walks nearby in fantastic countryside. Hay on Wye is half an hour away by car and plenty of great pubs to visit too. If you want comfortable seclusion this is for you - if you want a 5 minute walk to the local shop definitely not.

Stayed here over the August Bank Holiday and loved it. Cosy, romantic getaway, good for walks, great place to take your pooch and the local pubs are dog friendly. The owners are more than attentive, which made our stay even more special. Impeccably clean, comfy bed, quality pillows, Wi-Fi worked well once we worked out where to find password (on Wi-Fi booster plug underneath tv). If peace and quiet is what you want then this is the place! Cannot fault this cosy retreat
