Reviews

Warm cottage in a great location.Set in small cul de sac just minutes walk from main square in Stow where you will find several bars, restaurants & shops. Also has parking for 2 cars which is a bonus. However, wewere disappointed with many features in the cottage. The en-suite shower is ridiculously tiny and even an average sized person struggles to shower in it.The pictures don’t really show how small it is.Be aware that this is the house shower for the property as the main bathroom just has an attachment on the taps and with no wall fixing or shower screen this cannot be used as a shower. The shower in en suite leaks from corner onto the floor. The bedding was very old & tired. The duvets we’re bobbled, frayed and threadbare and should have been thrown out years ago. They must have been on the beds a very long time to get to that state and were obviously not replaced when the property reopened post covid. The pillows lacked any substance and were almost totally flat,so suggest if staying here bring your own. Possibly the worst we came across was the toilet brushes-they were disgusting and filthy dirty-dread to think when they were last renewed. The containers they stood in were old and rusty so that helps to age them.Extra cleaning & COVID safe??…I don’t think so! These were just a few of the issues we encountered. We fed back to Sykes and enclosed pictures which I will try & post with this review. The owner however thanked us for pointing these out (should we really need to point out such basics?!) but refused to offer any goodwill gesture as we did not ring them while we were there but instead filled out a feedback form.
