Another great visit to treetops and twigs. Very comfortable stay. A great welcome from our host Jim. Always has time for a chat and catch up. Full of useful info on where to visit or somewhere to eat. We will be back in July for a week . Can't rate this property high enough .
We have been going to treetops for a few years now. My daughter and her husband have started going there to now. It is a beautiful place to stay. Everything you need is there for a great stay no matter what the weather. Beautifully clean inside and out and a wonderful welcome from Jim the host. It's a little bit of heaven. We will holiday there as long as Jim rents it our.
This lovely tree house is located in Woody Bay. We’ve just got back from a week in this amazing accommodation and can thoroughly recommend it to others. The accommodation is larger than it looks in the photos and so well equipped, it has everything you need. Everything is of good quality and is very stylish. The entire front of the property is glass and has views towards Woody Bay, you can hear the waves and see the sea through the trees. It was great for our dogs too as the very large veranda/terrace is fully enclosed and there is a garden for them to run around in as well. It is immaculately clean and very cosy, the heating was on for us and the host provided tea, coffee, wine and chocolates. You can walk to Woody Bay in 10 minutes and to the coastal path in the other direction. We had good meals at Hunters Inn and the Fox and Goose. Make sure you arrive in daylight, we didn’t and it was quite difficult to find in the dark.
Knowing this area very well we did not need to do a lot of "sightseeing" and just wanted to chill and relax, and Treetops was the perfect place to do that.” Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived, and James and Gloria are the perfect hosts, available if needed but never intruding. On arrival James met us with a friendly handshake and showed us around the lodge, also remembering to show us where the bird food was kept as the birds certainly put on a show! The lodge is beautifully laid out and our welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar and Thornton chocolates, milk and white wine in the fridge and wine glasses ready on the coffee table was perfect. Fresh flowers on the kitchen table and patio table completed that extra touch. Lots of thought and care have obviously gone into the utensils, crockery and glassware provided for your stay, the cabin was clean, bed comfortable and linen and towels soft and fresh. The location is a paradise for walkers, dogs or those like us who just wanted to relax. We cannot recommend the cabin or James and Gloria highly enough, they certainly go the extra mile. The setting speaks for itself, nothing but birdsong and the chatter of "arguing" squirrels! To conclude, we did have one complaint, we had to leave and come home!! We certainly hope to stay again in the future, it's just amazing.
We have just returned from the most wonderful week at Treetops. We often holiday in the UK, as we like to take our dog with us. This accommodation has totally raised the bar and set the benchmark by which all future holidays will be judged. Jim and Gloria were outstanding hosts. We were greeted by soft music and a hamper of goodies on arrival. The property was VERY clean and comfortable, warm and cosy. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and it was a very romantic setting. What stands out is the attention to detail, all crockery, glassware, towels, bedding, etc were of a standard that we would use at home; no cheap tat here! The bed was extremely comfortable and very difficult to get out of in the morning. To say the property is dog friendly is an understatement. We have been to “dog friendly” properties where the list of do’s and dont’s for our pooch was as long as your arm. Our dog, Mollie was warmly welcomed with treats, her own towel and blankets to protect the furniture. Refreshing not to see instructions to leave her on the floor. The wildlife on the balcony outside was indeed a sight to behold. We saw our first woodpeckers, 2 varieties as well as all the usual garden birds and even a cheeky squirrel, all feeding just feet away from us. We were so entertained we didn’t watch TV all week. The coastal path and many other footpaths were all within walking distance of the property. It was nice not to have to use the car everyday and Mollie was off lead almost all of the time. There were also plenty of places locally to eat and drink. We had a very good Sunday lunch at the National Trust owned Hunter’s Inn; superb homemade cake and cream teas at Charlie Friday’s in Lynmouth and other good meals at the Blue Ball Inn and the Fox & Goose in Parracombe, all of which were dog friendly. All in all it was an excellent week and we would not hesitate to recommend this property and stunning location.
