This was our second stay at Shenton Cottage, we had it booked but because of lockdown it got pushed back another year. But it was very much needed, and we really enjoyed it. Thank you for the best holiday, can't wait to book again for next year.
Top quality accommodation,in an ideal location. Spotlessly clean, you wouldn't know it was a dog friendly place. Log fire and hot tub great for a January break. Owners live next door, lovely people and very helpful if you need them, they've put a lot of thought into this 5 Star accommodation. Will definitely return
We had a lovely stay, and the cottage is absolutely gorgeous, with lots of little thoughtful things and touches well thought out (comfortable settee and bed, lovely fire, nice decor, it was a really comfortable stay). We loved the hot tub, and despite being slightly overlooked it feels really secluded with the good use of the the cover and wooden fencing. We really enjoyed Buxton itself, and would definitely stay here again in future. The scones, jam and cream were a lovely treat too which were left by the host.
We booked Shenton Cottage, for our first pet friendly holiday. Shenton Cottage did not disappoint! The cottage itself is beautiful, furnished to the highest standard and has everything you would need for a holiday. The afternoon tea was a lovely added touch and very yummy!☕ The garden, has the lush hot tub with views across the fields. Shenton Cottage is in a fantastic location with brilliant walks around... Solomons Temple is a brilliant walk, especially if you have your fur babies with you! The Local (19th Hole) is great, again dog friendly and all the punters are lovely! Thankyou so much for a 5* stay! We will 100% be returning!
Me and my partner (along with our dog) stayed at Shenton cottage from 11th - 14th Feb 2020 and we absolutely love this cottage. It is bigger than it appears in photos and is so cosy with the wood burner in the evenings. Had a lovely time here and the host Jane went above and beyond to make sure we had the best couple of days while we were there. Even gave us a bottle of prosecco as a gift for our anniversary. Also Jane had freshly baked scones ready for us on arrival, which were delicious. Never had such a good host at any other destinations we have visited. Thank you so much Jane
Stayed here for 4 nights, beginning of October. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and spotless...it should be 5 stars....not 4. The owners had left scones, china teapot with cute china teacups and saucers on the kitchen table. There was butter, cream and jam in the fridge along with milk for the tea. There was even dog bedding, a dog towel and treats for our French Bulldog! The owners really have thought of everything. We both had use of towelling dressing gowns and slippers, which we found very useful. We really enjoyed using the log burner and hot tub. We even used the hot tub in the rain as it's under cover so it's ideal. (There's an outside light too so able to use it in winter too). The garden is great for dogs as it's secure. There's an amazing view of the golf course to the front and a lovely view over fields at the back. There's a great pub which is only a few doors up...very friendly staff and locals. It also had a good gin selection. We love Buxton which has lots of great shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and a theatre. We also visited Solomans Temple with our dog...was a lovely walk and fabulous views from the top. Can't fault this cottage at all. Can defo recommend for a relaxing stay, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We're planning to return again next year. Many thanks :-)
Shenton cottage is a lovely home-from-home, beautifully furnished and with all mod cons. It was spotlessly clean and with a lovely welcome surprise. There were lots of thoughtful little extra things, which made it special. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans, knives, etc. The girls loved the reclining sofa, seems that maybe on my shopping list now. The house was warm and comfortable, and we all very much enjoyed staying. The hot-tub was definitely a hit too. It was lovely that Jane & Steve are next door, and we enjoyed a little natter across the wall, and of course a fuss with Johnny. I would mention that there is some road noise in the front bedroom at night time, but the view across the golf course is very nice when you open the blinds. We had a great time in the lovely Peak District, made even better by having such a lovely home to go back to and use as our base. Thanks Jane!
