Just home from a fabulous week at the Oystercatcher. Great location. 4 adults had plenty of room. Facilities great. The Hive heating took a little mastering. It was so hot and we were constantly turning the temperature down. I think this property is a little tired. A couple of issues. The family bathroom needed the sink unblocking the first day we arrived. Surprised this wasn’t noticed when cleaning the property before our arrival. A few cobwebs noticed, again this was cleaned before we arrived ? 2 nights of not sleeping too well, found out the lats under the king size bed were not spread to the top of the bed base and fixed and this was the reason the mattress was falling through the base at the head end. My partner sorted both issues but needless to say they shouldn’t have been there to start with. The outside wooden corner garden shed / pergola has a glass panel missing in the door and a cracked glass panel on the other side. Toys are in here for the children to play with, but not a good place to play as it also holds an active wasp nest hanging in the ceiling. The garden needs some weeding too. Some thistles in the raised beds outside the patio doors, standing 3ft high. The veranda is lovely and we enjoyed the evening sun out there. The garden table was very wobbly. We couldn’t find a spanner to tighten the legs but hand tightened them helped a little. The posts around the veranda are wobbly. The door fell off when opening the box holding the garden cushions. We wouldn’t return to the property but these issues hadn’t spoiled our time away with close friends. Embleton, Low Newton, Beadnell, Holy Island, Dunstan and Craster still hold our hearts and we’ll be back to visit the area again very soon.
We have stayed at the Oystercatcher for a week at the end of March/beginning of April and we have thoroughly enjoyed it The home is a modern, large 4 bedroom property with a large kitchen diner and two living room areas. The back garden is a large size which also contains a decking area to take advantage on during those nice, sunny days Everything in the property is brand new and modern from the cutlery to the white goods. All upstairs bedrooms are large with 2 kingsized beds. The location is quiet with only a 5-10 minute walk to Embleton which has two pubs, a children’s playground and a local shop. It’s a 15-20 minute walk to the beach which leads up to Dunstanburgh castle. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the Oystercatcher to anyone wanting to visit Northumberland
Just returned home from this beautifully presented holiday home, clean and tastefully decorated with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Huge back garden for the dogs to play in, books, dvds and a games console if you have children. Beach, restaurants and shop close by making it a great location to explore Northumberland. We loved our stay at Oystercatcher and will most certainly return, highly recommend”
