Herne is a small village within walking distance of the traditional Kent coastal resort of Herne Bay, which offers 2 miles of splendid seafront, frequented by water sport enthusiasts including rowers, yachtsmen and jet ski riders, and by those who simply enjoy walking along the beach with its colourful beach huts. For a day of cobbled streets and browsing around quaint little shops, then make time for Whitstable, famous for its Oyster festival and a popular harbour town at any time of year.
