Reviews

Fantastic property with plenty of space. Spectacular views from the garden. Our 19 month old great granddaughter loved playing in the garden. Plenty of space for her to run around. The house is very well equipped. Great location, short walk into Llangollen. Would certainly recommend this house and would love to return one day. If you book this property you will not be disappointed.

This Bungalow is amazing and well laid out. Plenty of bathrooms for the amount of people. We had a fab time getting together for mum and Dads 35th Anniversary and my Birthday. Views amazing location to town good. When we arrived we had been given the wrong key code so we called Sykes and they gave us correct one. We started to unpack all our cars and brought food into the kitchen area and put out on island and work surfaces to all of a sudden realised they were thick with grease so everything had to come off and wait until it had been wiped down. The cleaner had obviously just only oiled the work surfaces and left them we found the cloth and oil can. Mums coat had got covered in oil she wasn’t please. We started settling in cooking tea and could not find how to start gas hob Take matches with you we had not. Dinning room spots could not find switch so quite dark later on when playing games. We went to put Tv on whilst cooking Tea for our grandson to find no batteries actually in the remote. So we went in the car for matches and batteries. Cooker extracted would not come on so had one of the sliding patio doors open. Ok in summer but quite cold this weekend. Jacuzzi bed room lovely but Tv would not tune in so my birthday treat of this room was spoilt. At first glance bedrooms look lovely. However they are very dusty. The Bedding is horrible most of could not sleep in it as all bobbly as if all sheets and bed rugs put into together wash. For the price everyone is paying decent bedding needs to be bought and washed and ironed properly. BETTER BEDDING NEEDED We would definitely go back if a few tweaks were done decent bedding and equipment working. This needs a deep clean dust in the all areas. We found old socks Lego bits under the beds A nice welcome cake that had run out day before our stay so we left that for them. Two fridges and two freezers. Good room But could do with a clean out. There was a gate at bottom of the garden which lead to a woodland drop been left open. So had to shut so safe for grandson and then open again next morning it was open. We loved the separate area for dogs thought that was good idea but previous people had not picked up after their dogs. Sounds a bit negative but could be an amazing place not sure if owners abroad and a cleaner comes in. We arrived at Two and left one of our cars there and went into Llangollen. Cleaner had not been then as living room had rubbish on floor when we looked through the window which had gone when we came back at 3pm but the work surface should of been oiled well before our arrival luckily shopping bags are wipeable. May have dried if she cane in at 10.30am. Regards

Lots to do for the children - they loved the under-eaves playarea in the bedroom and the swings - ooh and the jacuzzi bath was fun. The adults enjoyed the hot tub. We loved the set up of the kitchen / dining area and the stunning views from there .. the mist lifted like magic on Sunday to reveal the castle ruins! We hope to come back sometime and will recommend you to others. Thank you for sharing your house. What a fantastic space - well laid out with lots of different areas. Ideal for our family get-together with a wide range of ages.

I only normally go on here to post bad reviews when something isn't right but I saw the last review and I just had to put it straight!.. What on earth were these people smoking .. there isn't any need to become the cleaner or empty a huge commercial hot tub!! Where on earth have they got that idea I don't know. We actually discussed the review with the cleaning team who greeted us on arrival and they said that the owner chose them because they are the only ones recommended by the agents. I also learnt that they are paid hundreds of £ for every changeover due to the size and complexity of the property. The only thing they said regarding cleaning we were expected to do was of course to empty the bins and leave the place in the same condition that we found it in (immaculate by the way). Cottage or Bungalow .. tomAto, tomARto .. does it matter? Extended Dormer Bungalow to be precise but who cares? We loved the size of the place, we've never rented such a diverse property as there were so many separate areas for adults and children to be occupied in. Our youngest were delighted when they found a large dolls house and a desk inside a walk-in wardrobe and they played in there for hours! Also, we had endless games of hide and seek - to the point the adults wouldn't play any more. The other things we were impressed with were the free WiFi and free Netflix as well, the children enjoyed the conservatory 'play room' and huge rear garden. The hot tub and jacuzzi bath weren't why we booked the property but they were REALLy welcome after a long day sight-seeing. The house wasn't a far walk from the shops and Llangollen's canal & railway so again not sure what the previous reviewer is talking about! We had no problem walking back from the restaurant on an evening and wouldn't dream of bothering with a taxi / car. Hopefully we'll get to stay at Talgais again in the future as there wasn't any one person in our party (of 12) that had a bad word to say about it.

Photos of the house looked wonderful .but ..this is a bungalow not a cottage and is situated down a street a couple of miles from Llangollen. Once inside the property the views of the countryside are amazing from the hot tub and we enjoyed our stay. However, the house itself was grubby the oven been disgusting, fridges etc. The kitchen worktops need sanding and re-oiling. Initial impression of the bedrooms was that I thought the bedding had not been changed but then realised that they didnt iron the duvet covers. We paid just under a grand for day and a half stay !!!!!!! And we had to get out of the property by 10 am on the Sunday so not even a full weekend. The final straw was the list of cleaning that we had to do before leaving such as emptying bins, cleaning all the bathrooms and shower screens ! Hoovering and mopping the floors ! And even emptying the hot tub to name but a few.. I have never stayed anywhere where you have to clean the property before the next people arrive...!! No doubt why the place is grubby as most people are not going to clean very thoroughly. With the money they charge they should get a proper cleaner to go in and blitz the place... All in all dont waste your money it would be cheaper to stay in a hotel and you wont have to do any cleaning..
