We had to request a change of date and the owner refused to communicate until the last day appalling this gave us no time To make other arrangement emailed on 19 and no reply and had to phone twice chasing only got response on Friday 1600 shocking poor communication. Do not book as the Sykes system is totally useless passing blame on

We both loved the lodge, secluded away from everyone else. Decorated lovely and modern. Separate freezer was very handy. French doors open up to a beautiful sound of the birds singing and squirrels looking for nuts (yes I did feed them). Hot tub was fabulous especially with a cold glass of Prosecco!! A couple of snags: no coffee maker or pod machine but not the end of the world. Fridge bottom door shelf to hold milk was broken, again not the end of the world. Remember to bring extra loo rolls, bin bags etc! I would definitely return but at the Waters Edge for the lake view! Lovely staycation for hubby and I! Enjoy yr stay.

Spent 4 nights here. Unfortunately I was slightly disappointed by a few things. The site is lovely and peaceful and well kept, and cabins are well spaced out providing privacy. The bar and restaurant area was nice (but didn't eat here). The lodge had a smell of damp in the bedroom and bathroom with evidence of damp. Crockery was chipped and mismatched, blinds were broken, outdoor furniture was tatty and cushions too wet and dirty to use. Fridge door shelf missing and freezer needs defrosting. I reported dripping shower and lights not working but nothing was done during our stay. Also no remote control for the bedroom TV so could not be used. For what we paid for our 4 night break I would expect a much higher standard of accommodation. Definitely NOT 5 star but adequate. Will not return.

My best holiday. It was an amazing place, very quiet and peaceful. We also loved the fact there was no WiFi or signal so we had to put our phones down and enjoy the nature. The place is surrounded by bunnies and squirrels. Would definitely recommend and we can’t wait to go back.

This place is truly amazing. The cabin is cozy and ideal for a couple, well laid out, clean with all amenities you could need. Being able to open the French doors into the balcony and just listening to birdsong and the river babbling below was absolutely my favourite thing about it. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. We have stayed in other locations with hot tubs before and when not in use they have to maintain their temperature so sometimes can be quite loud in contrast to peaceful surroundings however did not find this the case here. Cabins are really well spaced out giving you total privacy. The site is also well maintained, at night there are some lights along the paths although you will definitely need a torch (there was one provided in the cabin.) The darkness makes for a breath-taking nights sky on a clear night. There are lots of wildlife close by - we managed to see a variety of small birds (tits, robins, finches), squirrels and deer just from the cabin. There has also been sightings of otters, a heron and kingfisher by the river. Lots of lovely walks near in the countryside or out to the coast if you want to stay close to home or a good base to explore parts of south Cornwall, north Cornwall or even hop over to Devon. The restaurant on site was amazing. So reasonably priced and the food was fantastic. The staff were also extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Would definitely love to come back and stay here and can not recommend highly enough.

Had an amazing weekend here. Looks exactly like the pictures and was everything I wanted for my boyfriends birthday surprise. The place was clean, and tidy. The hot tub was splendid and the balcony had a lovely view. The restaurant food was fantastic and reasonably priced which was great so we wouldn’t have to leave the premises. A couple of points is the “intermittent WiFi” means you get no WiFi or service. And the log fire in the lodge has no logs supplied, you must bring your own but no real complaints from me. Highly recommend.
