Someone I know booked this place a while ago for £700. It’s since been cancelled and then re listed for £2700 Shocking and pretty sure illegal
Stayed at this property from 11 - 18 May. It is a very nice house in a residential area close to Llandudno West Shore. On arrival, the property was clean and welcoming. Milk and Welsh cakes were awaiting us. The house was perfect for our needs, having one downstairs king size bedroom and three upstairs bedrooms - a super king, a double and a twin. I would say the twin is only really suitable for children and requires a velux blind. We did not need to use that room. Both the bathroom and shower room are good, the shower is excellent. More kitchen equipment is definitely needed - essentials such as a measuring jug, wooden spoons and an additional set of crockery would be good. Also, there was no hairdryer. However, these omissions in no way spoiled our holiday - the excellent location more than made up for lacking items. It would be nice to see the pretty garden looked after but we did enjoy seeing a pair of gold finches feeding in the front garden in the mornings. We all agreed we would happily stay at the property again.
Booked this bungalow based on a four tick ( excellent) rating by Sykes Holiday Cottages . What a total letdown . We arrived to find that the place had not been cleaned properly and with first impressions of a neglected property ie garden overgrown , front door dirty and damaged and dirt in every corner . Tried to ring the mobile we had been given but no answer so rang Sykes direct who basically denied any responsibility only saying they would contact the owner . This lead to anumber of phone calls and eventually the owner arranged a cleaner for the next day ie 20 hours after our arrival . This did not work out as the cleaner said they had cleaned the property and did not have any cleaning gear and informed us that he was recording our conversation illegally ( why would he do this if not confrontational ) and after an argument left . We tried to clean ourselves but the broom and cleaner were filthy The whole property was neglected and lacking many essentials eg no hand towels , no toilet roll holders , few lamps and tables , no washing machine plus other items .Also no fire certificate or extinguisher. We have subsequently found out that Sykes do not visit the properties on their site and once booked the customers contract is with the owner ( we were not given the owners name ) . Quite how they arrive at the tick rating which people use to book is a mystery. To sum up people should be aware of Sykes policies . We will not use Sykes again .
