Coastguard Lookout is perfectly positioned in Wyke Regis, a popular suburb of Weymouth just minutes from Pirates Cove, a pleasing sandy inlet at the famous Fleet lagoon. This stylish high-spec modern property has a social styled combined first floor kitchen with dining area and sitting room and is a perfect getaway for a family or couple. Unwind with the sunshine beaming through the window in the spacious bedrooms on the ground floor. Admire the views of the Fleet lagoon from the Juliette balcony on the first floor. Sit and enjoy sunshine on the bench just outside the property and sink in that holiday feeling. The Fleet lagoon is a large natural inlet of water which is a haven for wildlife. Just a short walk away is the pretty old Wyke Village and the popular Wyke Smugglers pub – which is popular for live music. A short drive or bus ride away you can find restaurants include the highly recommended Crab House Café and on Portland Quiddles and The Cove Inn. Portland is just a five-minute car ride away and is home to the National Sailing Academy - which hosted the Olympic Sailing in 2012. Rambling, bird watching, beachcombing and coasteering are all favoured pursuits when visiting Portland. Weymouth's famous long sandy beach (perfect for sandcastles) and town centre are just a few miles away and here you will also find a variety of dining options, from fish and chips and fine dining restaurants. Wyke Regis sits on the south western side of Weymouth and the northern edges of Portland harbour whilst reaching as far as the back of Chesil beach and The Fleet. 2 miles from the centre of Weymouth. There are local shops, cafés and restaurants including The famous Crab House café, with it’s own Oyster beds on the doorstep. The National Sailing school, an Olympic legacy, offers a wide variety of water sports and is just 2 miles away on the edge of Portland harbour. The Fleet lagoon that runs between Wyke Regis and Chesil beach is an important area for wildlife and there are many species of birds to be seen in the area. Chesil beach is also a renown spot for fishing. The Fleet is probably most famous for being the testing ground for Barnes Wallis’s bouncing bomb, immortalised in the film the Dam Busters. Wyke Regis is the perfect location from which to explore many of Dorset’s most iconic locations on the Jurassic coast.
